Vikings just got to make sure they get something for him. Lucky that he didn't just get kicked out for life and they you get nothing

Should get him on cheap I would think no more than 4th rounder. Heard several weeks back AP's agent or a representative got into a heated public feud with a member of Vikes brass where he was shouting emphatically that Peterson will never again play there. Of course sometimes calmer heads or the right $ prevails but sounds like he's ready for new start and feels betrayed.

Well, if he is only worth a fourth rounder - he sure isn't worth 12 million dollars for the year. The Vikings don't owe him a dime. If they cut him - he will not get a 12 million contract with anybody. If he had a brain in his head - he would shut up - tell the Vikes he wants to play - is there anything he can do to make up for things. He is so arrogant he doesn't think he did anything wrong. Duh, if he wants to double his stable of kids from 10 to 20 he should be able to???

eport: 'No way' Cardinals trade for Adrian Peterson

    by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
    Mon, 16 Mar 2015 9:40 AM ET

In light of speculation the Cardinals could be interested in Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, a source told SI's Peter King that money "would be a major problem." Peterson, who turns 30 on Saturday, has three years and $45 million left on his contract.
“We haven't had contact with the Vikings about it, to the best of my knowledge,” the Cardinals source said. “And there is no way we could live with those numbers. We just got Larry Fitzgerald's contract under control. No way we'd add that salary.”
King notes that Arizona, which has the 23rd and 55th overall picks, loves the running backs available in the draft.
Peterson's father recently told the St. Paul Pioneer Press that his son has not yet asked for a trade, despite Peterson's contention the team did not do enough to get him back on the field last year.

Peterson will end up in Minnesota as that is the only place for him to get into the playoffs

Don't forget, Peterson basically single-handedly willed MIN into the playoffs with Ponder. TB>>>CP.

Yes not worth that contract and that's one reason why he has no leverage. Teams won't be beating down Minnys door to acquire that contract especially if a "high" draft pick is asking price.

Why I said maybe calmer heads prevail when it comes to $ and he stays. Dallas sounds good in theory but again if Jerry low balled DeMarco and got nowhere near the 12 mill neighborhood why would he pay that to older Peterson? Draft also rb heavy so if he makes too much commotion I have no problem cutting him. They have a QB it seems now , and receiving threats so offense heading in New direction anyhow. Cut his ass and the take someone in draft at some point.

Most teams simply don't have the cap space for Peterson. Maybe JAX or OAK, but DAL simply has no space for AP.

Yeah just said Dallas cause it makes sense. He's from Texas so even tho unless your a complete moron you do know better than to do what he did as a parent. That said apparently it's still part of the culture there so the good ol boys in Tex won't have an issue with his arrival. That's what he has to realize is he's not worth his contract. So if released he can pick his team there should be plenty of suitors but he's gonna have to come much cheaper. Let's see if he stays true to word and stonewalls Viqueens.

Yeah, I can't figure out what's going through his head right now. Like you said, if he gets flat released, he'll be lucky to get half his current salary unless someone like Jax is nuts for him or whatever. Dallas could always do something crazy with some creative cap construction shifting Romo's money around or something, but then they'd just bury themselves deeper and deeper into the problems they're trying to dig themselves out from under. Also, this year's draft sounds like a good RB crop, so that just erodes AP value even more.

4th rounder is easy swap for Arizona. Hopefully Carson Palmer can be as effective this year

According to Profootballtalk's Mike Florio, the Cardinals "continue to be the most likely destination" for Adrian Peterson.

Florio suggests trade details could be hammered out during the NFL's upcoming owners meetings in Arizona. Comments in support of the move from Larry Fitzgerald were recently published on the Cardinals' website. It's believed Arizona is willing to offer a "high draft pick," and the fit makes a ton of sense. The Cardinals recently spent a ton of money on power-blocking LG Mike Iupati. They currently don't have a power back.

MIN - RB Adrian Peterson won't be released

Source: USA TODAY Sports - Tom Pelissero
Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson's agent was told Wednesday, March 18, by general manager Rick Spielman that the running back will not be released by the team.

He won't be released...that doesn't mean he's staying in Minnesota. We could see the Vikings move Peterson if the price was right. We could also seeing him staying put. Stay tuned, this one is not over yet.

If AZ gets AP, that could be a scary team in the NFC.

Yahoo!'s Charles Robinson reports Adrian Peterson's agent refused a dinner meeting with Vikings GM Rick Spielman at the NFL owners' meetings.

This is turning into a messy divorce. Peterson's camp has been at odds with Minnesota's front office since the Combine and it doesn't look like the two sides will ever see eye-to-eye again. The Vikings seem to be in denial about Peterson's future with the team. A trade to the Cardinals seems more likely by the day.

I'm guessing Minny ownership and top execs would prefer him to be gone ASAP but want a decent return on him.

But they probably won't get a decent return so they should take what they can get.

Adrian Peterson's agent told USA Today that "we want out of Minnesota."

Peterson's agent is doing the dirty work here, as he came out on Wednesday and said he "doesn't think it's in the best interests of Peterson to play for the Vikings." The ball is in GM Rick Spielman's court, as he holds all the cards. The Vikings are in fine shape with the salary cap and can carry Peterson's $15 million-plus cap hit if they have to. And with Minnesota poised to take another step forward in Teddy Bridgewater's sophomore season, they may choose to hold onto A.D. More likely, the two sides go their separate ways. Arizona is a potential landing spot.

They were going to take a step forward in Christian Ponders sophomore season too.

high draft pick as in 2nd or 3rd rounder?

If Percy Harvin and Brandon Marshall are worth a 5th round pick then in no way can you give up a 1st round pick for Peterson.

Read Post #1, Cardinals were initially willing to trade second rounder. However, Peterson's trade value seems to be dropping with every word out of his agent's mouth.

If all they can get is a 5th rd pick at best, they may be better off just releasing him to avoid any cap hit on trade.

I think the $13 mill salary is a bigger deterrent to teams than anything else.

No one wants to pay that to a RB....except for Philly of course.
