DeMarco Murray Could Sign With The.......Jaguars????

According to Cowboys insider Mike Fisher, the 'Boys haven't been in contact with the unrestricted free agent while the Jags have:

Sources tell @1053thefan that #Cowboys have NOT been in negotiating contact w @DeMarcoMurray ..but #Jaguars among those who have. #Jaguars may need to overspend to lure talent. Thus is where #Cowboys FA DeMarco can make big $ score.

The Jaguars also want to potentially make Murray the centerpiece of their offense, per NFL reporter Charles Robinson:

An opportunity has opened for #Jaguars with DeMarco Murray. They want a centerpiece back and could push hard to price #Cowboys way out.

Murray and the Cowboys haven't agreed on a price this offseason and the running back is set to test the open market on March 10. While the Cowboys are expected to send a "respectable" offer to the NFL's leading rusher, Murray could get a sizable contract elsewhere.

That includes a large payday from the Jaguars.

With an estimated $66.8 million in cap space, the Jaguars can make a serious play for Murray. Pairing the workhorse back with quarterback Blake Bortles would be ideal for the Jaguars as they continue to build.

Murray broke out last season with the Cowboys, rushing for 1,845 and 13 touchdowns. At 27-years old, Murray should certainly have several strong years ahead of him. While it's been rumored that Murray could take a hometown discount to stay in Dallas, huge contracts elsewhere will give the running back something to seriously consider.

Like my boy Doug Gottlieb said today bad teams overpay and he's right. Miami, Wash (always) Raiders, etc now Jags. All players care about is top $. Good for Randall Cobb tho he took less to stay with a contender. Class act and guy who cares about winning.....and sees biz upside down road in few years let's not kid ourselves.

Jaguars talent level is not bad if they get Blackmon back or draft Cooper though the Oline is kinda weak.

Jaguars could be playoff contenders next year. They play in a very week division with 3 teams under .500.

You get Murray and Bortles together this could be your new Colts.

Why would the Cowboys be negotiating with him now?

They told him to go test the market - that will set his value and determine if he will give them an opportunity to match or at least come close as they discussed prior to franchise tag designations. Any negotioations prior to determining his market worth were unrealistic and silly for both of them.

They both want him to be in Dallas - it's just business.
