Ndamukong Suh to sign with the Miami Dolphins

@mortreport: Ndamukong Suh will sign with #Dolphins on Tuesday based off parameters around $114M and $60M guaranteed, per sources.

Highest paid defensive player in football. I'd imagine this is a 6 yr deal. Maybe 7.

    Suh to the Dolphins.

60 million guaranteed. He can really afford his future penalties now.

Another terrible free agent signing by Dolphins

I think Suh has character issues and is not really team first

Most likely going to be semi retired meaning he will take plays off and not train as hard

    Thanks

may not need a QB with that caliber of a defense.

Russell Wilson is not a very good QB and look what Seattle has done despite him.

Absolutely stupid wrapping up that kind of $ in one player who's not a great QB. These type of signings are the difference between smart/successful franchises and those desperate to be relevant again. Haynesworth part deux possibly?

Bear Haynesworth was a BEAST similar to Suh with Titans. Problem is like Suh he had questionable character and wasn't a team guy. Time will tell but right now only player in football on defensive side I go all in with would be Watt. Guy is BEAST, versatile, great motor always, and I'm not worried about what might happen after he gets big payday.

We all knew Suh would get overpaid. Dolphins were the ones to bite the fart bubble in the bath tub.

Yep someone would bite just glad it's not Raiders! Smart teams trying to build or stay on top don't go for this crap deal.

Lol raiders would die to have suh. Suh is not haynesworth, AH never tried on the field. Suh goes hard every snap. And he's been on the old rookie deals, he came out w Sam Bradford, dude been gettin paid. These ain't the first millions he's seen. Doesn't have character problems, just does dirty shit on the field. One of the best defensive players in nfl, he instantly makes any defence better. A lot of money but guys acting like he's some bum lol come on

Vinnie I never said he was a bum. Suh is a great player and in my opinion not even dirty. Just plays "dirty" by today's nfl pussified standards at times. In a league with a hard cap though I just cannot buy into putting this big of investment into a D tackle sorry. These deals don't pan out like you want far more often than not it seems. Yes Raiders would love to have him and he would have been a great fit but not with that price tag/ cap hit long term.

Teams like NE set the bar this past decade for how to invest. They don't fall into these traps and keep winning!

Raiders can sign Knighton and probably 2 other guys for $ they would have paid Suh and I'm fine with that. He's no Suh but not a huge drop off and is Del rio's guy!

With Suh, the Dolphins easily have the best defense in the AFC.

That's what I'd have done with Suh. Rent him year by year, not pay him franchise QB money.

What caliber defense? He was on much better defense with the Lions. Who had better QB (comparing to Miami), Calvin Johnson and decent running game. And they were nowhere near superbowl... Dolphins made a splash signing here. Their cap situation is no great, which will not allow them to sign some other quality players, which they need to improve the team. So, they are probably stay where they were before Suh. Behind Buffalo in their division and far behind the Patriots.

Of course they wanted Suh. But only at certain price tag. McKenzie is taking a lot of criticism for not getting one of these top FA's. But I have a lot of respect for him acctualy. He is staying true to his plan and is not panicking and overpaying. Once you start to panic as a GM, you're in trouble.

You're absolutely right. Suh is a great player, but I'd also rather have Knighton and 2 other decent guys. There are many needs on that team which needs to get adressed. Knighton is a great player, which has followed Del Rio throughout his entire career. I wouldn't be surprsied if that happens again. There is slight problem, because he is similar type of a player to Raiders' rookie Justin Ellis, who played great last year. And there are some questions if them two can play together. Also, there are many other quality guys still on the market. Raiders reportedly have a deal with Oderick from Miami. And they are front runners for C Rodney Hudson from Chiefs. And they are one of the favorites to land Iupati, Gresham and some other players...

Fair point. I wonder who Miami was bidding against to drive the price so high. Suh is getting more than Brady/A-rod.

Detroit would have had a ~37 million dollar cap hit for those saying the lions should have franchised Suh

Shades of Albert Haynesworth here in Washington

It's 27 million. Even so, DET just didn't have the cap space to do it.
