His offense is not a run between the tackles offense. McCoy at 10mil and a reduced roll in this offense wasn't going to happen. There's been rumblings in the philly media for weeks that this was going to happen so it's not surprising. I'm excited to see what they go for in free agency. This is chips team now, Andy Reid's players are all leaving.

LOL watching ESPN? i live here and can see these things without my philly green shades on with the blinders on the sides. Bottom line he maakes shit deals and to think nobody would have taken Jackson might be the joke of the year. U know the Raiders are in the NFL right? If tiny Sproles would have carried that many times when the line was at the shittiest, he wouldn't even be playing this year. He would be all banged the fuk up.

The Cowboys are in a 10X better position to win the SB than Philly. They were one bad call away from the NFC Championship game THIS year.

I realize you Eagle fans are hoping this turns out well. You should. But who does Philly currently have on offense that gives any other team a big worry? Who's their identity?

    Riley Cooper & Maclin??

one bad call away from the SB? They should have lost the 1st rd game vs Detriot!

Who on their offense that gives any team big worries? Oh I don't know. Here's some stats from last year. I belive the Eagles offense was better than the Cowboys.

You can win with superior scheme and solid players, not neccesarily the best at their position. Look at the last two Super Bowl Champs. Seahawks best player was a bruising RB behind a good OL. Average QB. Average Receivers. Patriots have a bunch of good players on offense, but even Gronk as their best weapon isn't a total game changer that has to be schemed against each week.

I'm not saying the Eagles have that, but clearly that is their philosophy. Players who fit the system - McCoy did not as more of a east/west runner - and you trust that you are going to out scheme the opposition.

The most important thing IMO, defense and the Eagles need improvement there. That is where I hope they spend all this cap space. They have to be looking at using it to improve the DBs and if Kiko returns healthy, their LB corps might be among the best in the league all of a sudden.

If having the best players at their position on offense won a Super Bowl, Green Bay would have won what the last three years or so? Did that happen?

Yeah, I'm sure that made them feel better as they were played up on the couch all thru the playoffs.

has nothing to do with how they felt in the playoffs. I understand though that's all you can reply when your comment about their offense was rejected with fact. Bottom line Eagles 10-6 last year with backup QB 3/4 of the season and still better offense than Dallas. Im confident chip has a plan with free agency and I'm ok with the trade

its a big gamble that alonso stays healthy but if he does hes a stud

Shady looked slow the last year and a half. Wasn't ever the fastest guy and his quickness was shitt last year. Smart to get something while you can. RB the most overrrated position in football and replaceable.

Heres the list. Prob some big $$ backs on here but with Chip spreading the ball around no real need for 1000 yard rusher anyway. They now have the cap space to get CB Safety LB OL & another serviceable RB. Could also still move up in the draft if needed as well. Smart move.

Matt Cassel is a Buffalo Bill now.

He is 11-5 as a AFC East starting QB i think.

    maybe 10-6 can't remember.

Chip figured out where to spend the money. First of all you must invest in young athletic players on defense. He wants to copy Seattle's swarm-to-the-ball style. He'll need to spend top money across the board. On offense he will only invest in a QB and offensive line! RB's and WR's you can shuffle in and out all day. Draft them in mid rounds or grab cap casualties, no big contracts! With the way he runs the offense, they will always be able to put 20+ points on the board. With a stud defense they can contend every year. You can always get good backs and receivers cheap. Look at the Pats , they pick up Blount after the deadline and he plays a big role in the playoffs. If you have a good QB and line, you can plug anyone in there.

Unfortunately for Eagles fans they don't have a QB worth a damn and most of their offensive line is either on the downside of their career (Peters and Mathis) or not living up to their hype (Johnson). Shedding the McCoy contract was a smart move but Chip is going to have his work cut out for him to with this offense.

you can't plug any running back into a shitty offensive line. Chip now wants a swarming defense? This offensive minded caoch told u that? I think every team in the league wants a Seattle style defense no? A Stud defense u say? Please this defense is borderline awful and is so far from a stud defense ur post becomes laughable. Look at the Pats u say? There is a reason Brady has all day to throw. Same reason Blount succeeded. u can plug a lot of running backs on a team that opens up giant holes. Shady was running against a wall of defenders most of the year and so will any back if Foles is still the quarterback. Pray he gets Mariota and with Chips offense Pray Mariota canstay in one piece with this type of offense.

wow. Great 1st post. Though they have some needs on the O Line, Peters made the pro bowl last year and is far from "on the downside of his career". Almost positive their center Kelse also made the pro bowl as well

Shitty O line when 2/5th of it made it to the pro bowl? I agree the D needs some help but that's where all this cap space comes into play. I'd pretty much bet a new CB, safety & D line guy gets signed.

    this is true.

Jordan Gross used to make pro bowls and honestly i'd rather have a big pile of dog shit playing left tackle than this worthless scrub.

Gross was pathetic. he must have been suckin somebodies rooster to make all those pro bowls.

You are correct, this defense was borderline awful. Actually, they were 100% awful. Now that they have cap room, you are gonna tell me a defense with these playmakers will still be awful? on paper, this is a potential well above average group

    Kendricks
    Cox
    Mccordy
    Maxwell
    Jenkins
    Barwin
    Alonso

Peters and Mathis are both 33 I think that qualifies as being on the downside of their careers for olinemen . Kelce is a great center and still young but Johnson has struggled so far for a top pick and Herremanns just got released.

CORRECT! The defense needs to get way better, as you can see Chip has released most of the higher paid veterans and has $50 mil in cap space to spend in free agency. Herremans was released on offense and he will never re-sign Maclin, so look for a high pick to go for a guard. I only said he figured out what to do, it will take another year or two to put it all together.

The first two years he was handcuffed by GM Howie Roseman, so he knew he had to get control of the roster if he was going to get the team he wants. Winning 10 games a year and getting knocked out in the first round every year is NOT the way to go. Time to take it up a notch and let Chip get the roster he wants.
