Bill's press conference offered a detailed explanation as well as cast tons of doubt that the Pats altered the balls after the refs signed off on them.

*Balls were filled in a 70-75 degree room

*Pressure will drop half a pound per every 10 degree drop in temperature that the ball is exposed to as it reaches its equilibrium.
This equals around a 1 pound drop in air-pressure which the NFL just said was closer to the variance, not the 2.5 lbs as reported initially.


The refs didn't mention testing what the Colts balls were at prior to the game or after, just at half time. For those who ask why the Colts balls didn't show the air variance impact that NE's did, it could be because the Colt's over inflated the balls to begin with and the refs used the hand test instead of actually using a gauge to check pressure. The Colts balls could have deflated to an appropriate level while the pats balls deflated to a below appropriate level. Really spotty operations performed by the refs/NFL

Bill wouldn't come out and talk for 22 mins straight (which is more than we've seen him talk in the 14+ years here combined) if he didn't honestly believe the Pats adhered to every rule of the NFL..If he knew he was going to be found guilty, the last thing he'd do would be to lie to everyone so that when the verdict is made, he looks even worse.

All these "could haves" and "maybes" will get the Pats off. People on the outside think Bill is a dick but the truth is he's been around the game for 40 years. He played and his father coached...No one will be able to offer up a reason for why Bill would want to ruin the integrity of the game which has been his entire life. Sure he pushes the envelope as any good GM would do and he gave his view on the Spygate issue and I believe they haven't illegally spied since.

The truth is, even if the NFL says the Pats did nothing wrong, even if the NFL says that someone sabotaged the Pats equipment, there will be all the people up in arms still aiming their pitchforks towards NE because in the end, the run they are on is viewed as way too good to be clean. The only people that don't care what everyone thinks are the Patriots themselves and this is the bittersweet truth for all the haters.

Truth is, nobody checked anything. Where is the interview with the actually game official that said he personally checked each ball??? It is nonsensical and routine, nobody checked anything until there was a complaint. Oh sure, a part time official EXACTLY 2hours & 15 minutes before kick off, went around with a gauge and checked 24 -36 footballs. LOL. It has never happened, the issue, so they probably just picked up the balls and said let's play.

Why do you think they (NFL) aren't saying shit about this. They want the "Show to go On" they love the attention. I truly hope this ticks off Belicheck, Brady and company and they destroy this lucky wanna be team. Hell, GB did everything they could to hand them that game. Seattle played approximately 3 minutes of football.
