    The Bears suck, but....

...how do we not hammer them Sunday @ New England?

Patriots are laying a TD here and will be coming off a bye. You've got to think the Bears will respond though after getting embarrassed at home by the Dolphins. Emotions ran high in the locker room following the loss and there's no doubt this team will be focused this week to right the ship.

Not sure about winning straight up but Chicago and the points seems like a must-play.

Pats are not coming off of a bye week. They played on thurs. I think the extra rest will help them.

Sorry yea you're right. It's sort of a mini bye week but you're right, not a Bye.

    Thanks for the correction.

Bears are horrible on road especially at New England

It could be close but Bears have zero shot to win game

Bears are 3-1 on the road; 0-3 at home.

It is close to a bye week....the players had three days off that they NEVER normally have. This helps in a numbers of ways, with small injuries and with Belichek's game planning.

I Think the majority will take the Bears here....and I will be playing the over and the Pats to cover, probably somewhat easily. Thinking 37-23.

you've obviously never played football before.

players need an entire week to recover, which is why they hate playing on thursdays. not only are they not fully recovered but playing another game so early messes up their healing process which hurts them even more. so this 2 days is hardly a "bye week" because they need more time to recover. they would rather have played on sunday than thursday.

Next time listen to yourself before you post. Having 9 days off is certainly better than having 6....in what world is that NOT the case?

Next, Crusty, I did play football....and I do understand what it is all about. Players don't hate Thursday games, in fact in is a popular belief right now that players LIKE the Thursday games BECAUSE they actually get off days during the season afterwards. Playing Sunday and then Thursday is tough for sure, but once they have played it (remember, they can't avoid it bud, the league makes the schedule) they really enjoy the extra time to recover.

We are not talking about a short week here, we are saying that they have a long week to prepare....if you don't understand that....then I don't know that I can help you.

9 days off after playing 2 games in 5 days!

what players have said they love playing on thursdays?

obviously, u haven't played tackle football. i have and it takes a full week to recover. i would never have wanted to play on short days rest because my body wasn't 100% recovered.

No doubt take Bears +6.5/7. Wasn't that the line when the Bears went into SF and everyone had them buried before the game?

Took a blocked FG to get by the freaking Jets at home. This line is overreaction to poor Bears game yesterday. I had the line pegged 3.5/4 before yesterday's debacle. Typical overreaction.

Yes, I got that....thanks, I can READ. Do some research man, or just listen to the radio. Both DP and Rime have had active NFL players on in the last two weeks that expressed that the players in their lockerrooms PREFERRED the short week because, aside from the bye, it created their only days off of the year. I am sure there are veterans or players with nagging injuries that wouldn't agree, but in today's day and age, this is just what the players are saying.

As as for playing 'tackle football',...what the Fukk kind of other football is there? A lot of your friends playing 'touch football' or 'flag football' nowadays? Wtf.

If if you go back to my original post I talked about having extra days off during the season WITHOUT PRACTICE....that never happens except in these scenarios. This is a huge positive for guys playing with nagging injuries. I also talked about game planning.....you think this isn't an advantage? Come now Crusty.

I agree. Bears spread looks like a no-brainer. NE didn't even look that good against the Jets. They got dominated in time of posession, the only difference was Brady finished off his few drives with TDs while Geno and NYJ settled for FGs. Pats could have easily lost that game. Pats really have no run game, and it's going to hurt their offense going forward.

Dipshit Tressman will actually try and run the fukn ball vs NE If they don't they will definitely lose. "High powered" Bears offense can't put up the scoring Brady and his one man offense is right now. Not to mention the Bear's D is god aweful.
