    Why did CBS get rid of Shannon Sharpe?

    Seems like a good guy and knows his stuff. Who replaced him on CBS? Should have gotten rid of Cowher.

    In a one-for-two move, CBS will bring in recently retired Tony Gonzalez and dump Dan Marino and Shannon Sharpe from its “The NFL Today” pregame show.
    CBS Sports boss Sean McManus said Gonzalez will bring “a fresh insightful perspective” to the program. Obviously, he did not think either Marino or Sharpe could deliver in a similar fashion.

    Most was 915 until 1996 when Abdul-Jabbar got 1,116, which wasn't even that good considering he had 3.6 YPC. 1,000 yards is routine for any regular RB. Pretty sad that Miami went from 1983-1995 without one.

    Marino was 35 that year and missed two games due to injury.

    Marino is a top 5 QB.

    When the reports come out... the CBS crew felt that Sharpe was to boisterous in some of his comments. I also believe it had to do with a money issue. And he was trying to steal the show with his crazy outbursts at time.
