How can you argue that Russell Wilson is not a game manager?

    8/18 for 103 yards.

Ohhhhhhh but he's 1/2 black so don't forget those 16 rushing yards!

Week 17 he had 172 yards
Week 16 he had 108 yards
Week 15 he had 206 yards
Week 14 he had 199 yards

He went over 250 yards only 4 times in 17 weeks of games! To put things into perspective Ryan Tannehill is not very good and he averaged 244 yards per game. Russell Wilson's passing stats are bottom 5 in the league. His supporters can only cling to one argument. His QB rating. Well do you know why he has a high QB rating??? BECAUSE HE IS A GAME MANAGER!!!! You mean to tell me that Alex Smith couldn't do what RW did this year?

He is awful in the pocket. It is always him running around and then he throws some outlet pass to his RB/WR/TE on the sidelines and the guy picks up yards. RW is awful as a pocket passer. Everything predicates on him running around and throwing to guys outside the pocket. It is all about play action and roll outs. He is a terrible pocket passer.

So yeah, right now the Hawks have a championship caliber defense, a good O-Line, good coaching and an outstanding running back but once that stuff starts to go away and the salary cap comes into play people will see the real Russell Wilson.

BUT BUT BUT RUSSELL WILSON IS A WINNER -There was a point in time when Vince Young or Tim Tebow had crappy passing stats but JUST WON GAMES and now they are both so far out of the league.

BUT BUT BUT HE'S A SMART OUTSTANDING HUMAN BEING - Yeah and so is Tim Tebow but you don't see anybody rushing to make him a quarterback. Ryan Fitzpatrick is smarter than all of the quarterbacks and nobody wants him to be their starter. Ben Roethlisburger is a mornon and he's a starter. Poise and intelligence matter but they aren't everything. Peyton Manning didn't have some crazy wonderlic test.

Yeah just like Tebow and Vince Young. I remember Shawn King was a big winner for the Bucs back in the late 90's. Oh and Trent Dilfer was a big winner with the Ravens.

Ok you take the guy with 103 passing yards that will give you 16 rushing yards.

I'll take the guy that passes for 300 yards per game.

    Deal?

Would not compare Wilson to Tebow/Young. Much better QB. In his 2nd year. Impressive showing up to this point.

The Seahawks win because of their secondary, their defense overall, and their running back. Not their QB who averages a hare over 200 yards per game. Bottom of the league in terms of passing. The only reason his rating is high is because he doesn't have to pass much, play action, and he gets shorter fields and an easier chance at TDs.

Put him on the Browns or almost any other team and he falls flat on his face. If Peyton Manning was on Seattle they would be 16-0 on route to a perfect season. Russell Wilson is on Denver with that defense and he's looking at a 5-11 record. Peyton Manning and Tom Brady switch spots and their teams are relatively the same. Brady/Manning go to the Browns and they win 10 or 11 games. Can you not see the point here?

    Definitely not a winner.
Will finish his career as a below avg QB when its all over. Doesn't have the tools.
Just has a smart coach who doesn't let him do anything, same as Alex Smith with SF.
    Seattle defense is just insane.
He could be another Trent Dilfer though, the defense is that good. But he's black so that won't happen.
Wilson will never win games based on his talents.
Awful arm, terrible accuracy, 3 years from now after a surgery or 2 and not being able to scramble here n there, it's over.

    He wins games.

Stop trying to knock Wilson's hustle, C-Gold.

You'll watch next week just like everyone else.

Plus Wilson is a good man.

Every single week, he spends an off day at a children's hospital and he is a very likable individual.

He made some sick passes when he needed to. When a team has 0 points thru almost 3 did you expect him to air it out all game. His ability to extend plays and scramble will come up huge and Harvin has been hurt.

Once he signs his contract, and Seattle won't be able to retain defenders and beast mode breaks down Wilson is done. In as little as 3 years he might lose his starting job.

RG3 was getting a lot of praise last year but he got exposed this year.

Wilson isn't even as good as RG3 was last year and he will get exposed in a big big way. RG3 is at least tall and has some arm strength, and he's a smart guy also. Wilson will be a below average QB and probably won't be an NFL starter in 5 years.

People around here hate on Romo all the time and he's not even close. Not even close to being as good as Romo.

With that defense, if he was on the Cowboys they would be 4-12. He would be asked to pass and he's not a good passer.

He's the most overrated QB in football. I am so sick of ESPN's constant fawning over him. If any team in the playoff could lose their starting QB but not miss a beat, it's Seattle.

    Exactly.

There is only 1 reason why ESPN hypes him and it is because he's 1/2 black. He was a tan Alex Smith this year but you didn't hear one of the ESPN anchors or the former player say... yeahhhhh but RW is just a game manager!

It's all about how dynamic he is, how he can run AND pass and how he's a good guy and a leader.

Put him on the Cowboys, Browns, Colts, Broncos or any other team and watch him fail. RW's 2nd best team would ironically be the Chiefs or maybe Carolina or SF where he could simply be the game manager that he is.

Romo, Luck and Brees are miles ahead of Russell Wilson and the last time I checked Drew Brees has a super bowl ring.

Yes I would take Jay Cutler over him easily as well.

You make some variation of this thread every other week. Nothing changes. If anybody is playing the race card it's you, i.e. so and so isn't good because he's black. You veil it in stats, but at the end of the day we get your point. Football is a team game, with the exception of a very few (Manning, Brady, Rogers), they're all "game managers". The difference is guys like Stafford and Romo put up big numbers but also make the bone-headed play that cost their teams games. Win games. Doesn't matter how.

he is like Brady from 2001 to 2004

he won't be going off in playoff games with stats and still finding ways to end up the loser

no arguing that he isn't a game manager

he does have the feet to extend plays too
