A shame for PSU. Was hoping he'd stay another year or two.

Would have liked them to maybe bring Vic Fangio back or someone like Sean McDermott

Schiano had basically been positioning himself to get the job for at least the last ten years and the fact that his stock is low now is a beautiful thing. If it was when Ray rice came out of rutty he'd be a lock. Hope he doesn't get it now.

And you consider them much bigger names than O'Brien?

would be a horrible hire for the Texans. Their not a young team looking to build, their a team with a ton of talent that can get back into the playoffs next year. Their better off bringing in an experienced guy, its Texas they shouldn't have too much trouble bringing in a big name.

It's the Chip Kelly effect. I don't know if it makes any sense, but just look at how Harbaugh, Carrol, etc are dominating.

Belichick's assistants have a great track record. Mangini, Crenel, Weis, McDaniels.

big mistake by the Texans, could've done alot better. Texans was probably the most appealing job out of all the ones available

O'Brien is a smart hire. Pats pedigree and the team has the pieces in place to compete with a good coach. I'd expect him to name a starting QB from Day 1 and the offense will be 10x better than the shit they tossed out this year. Texans compete for the Division next year, they have all the pieces - just needed some fresh air on top.

nfl coaches on the dole dont have a job for a reason, they suck

bring in someone new, fresh, with a winner mentality instead of just being incestuous and recycling old nfl coaches

although i thought after that sandusky shit ped state and anyone associated with it would be tarnished, apparently people have forgotten already

Romeo Crennel the possible new defensive coordinator. Would be a good pick up if Phillips doesn't stay on.
