    Houston Texas @ Jacksonville Jaguars

Houston -3 O/U 43.5 I know its a throw away game and a lot of people wont bet on it but im sort of leaning towards Jacksonville on this one... I don't know why...Houston came off of a pretty good performance against the Pats...Any thoughts on this game...I shouldn't even be betting it but I gotta at least throw a little money at it to make it interesting to watch...

This should be called the Degenerate Bowl because that's the only people watching it. Also we get to see which team is better at shooting themselves in the foot by winning and costing them a chance the number 1 pick in the draft.

I think Houston is the bet here. Kubiak is in the hot seat. His only redemption is to prove that Keenum is the future of the franchise. He had an excellent showing against the Pats. Now it is payback time for embarrassing them at home. I expect the Texans to return the favor. I am looking at both the Texans -3 and the over. I teased them in a 10 point teaser but took both in straight bets as well. Not my idea. I got it from Joe Duffy. I thought his reasons made sense so I am rolling with it and see what happens.

jags +3.5 .6/.53u. peter korner founder nevada based sports club who sets the vegas lines had jags as fav. and was overruled by his team and they released the line as a pik em to casinos. the casinos choose to open the line at hstn -2.5 and you can now get jags at +3.5 for a cheap price off the key number 3.

tx is on a franchise record 10 game lose streak. while jags . have won2 in a row.and 3 of 4. including a 13 -7 win at houston a few weeks ago.

tx is the front runner to take the top pick which they would use to get aqb in draft the jags really are not in running for top pick as there are 2 other 3-9 teams. really jags focus is on winning a home game. jags coach bradly on the fact the jags have three remaining games at home. its a great opportunity.

so playing tonite on nfl network is viewed as a great opp for team.

arain foster of course is out and schuab is no longer the starter. the big names that won last yrs division are out. hstn has a -12 turnover for the season. whilejags are hot on the 8 takeways l4 games.

the jags have had 2 100 rushing games in a row. and offense . is showing some life as the came back last week vs cleveland 32.

    .-28.

hstn remaining schedule and we know they need a qb is at jags. at indy. denver at home. at tennesee. this looks like a potential 2-14 season and hence the top pick with a 2 -14 record.

I dont believe the Texans are just gonna quit for the rest of the season to get the #1 pick. I see them still fighting for a little respect at least. Hopefully they at least show up on D or something.

Both teams have shown that they can score against good teams. So the Over sounds good to me.

vividjohn - great breakdown actually one of the most telling factors is the turnover average that each team has. I think Brian Billick wrote a fantastic article about a year ago discussing how significant this is - where the turnover difference is 2 or greater that team (with less turnovers) stands to win about 75-80% of the time. Obviously it depends on that particular game - nobody knows how many actual turnovers the game will have until after the fact; that's why looking to the team's recent history is important.

Anyway if there was anything to pick it would be Jags ML or taking the Jags on the spread.

Also question - are we allowed to play betpoints vs each other? I haven't been on SBR in ages I think still legal but if anyone is interested I'd be happy to throw down 100 points on Jags +3 tonight to keep things fun.

I think the line doesn't offer much on the side. The Jags going 3-1 in their last four games has flattened out public opinion. Now it's just two bad teams facing each other with the more talented team as a short road fave. Not unreasonable.

The Jags have been succeeding against bad teams though after facing an absolutely brutal first half schedule that included 5 playoff teams (in 8 games) and road games against SEA/DEN. Most teams would have had a hard time even breaking even in that span. Still, winning 3 of 4 and still looking for their first home win, they're coming in confident and motivated. Houston has to be equally motivated to not go 0-2 against the Jags this year. If they lose today, there's a real risk of them not only finishing at the bottom of the division, but in last place overall with @IND, DEN, and @TEN left on the schedule.

Just going by the line, I'd say the books want action on the Jags. I kind of like the Texans but in a gun to my head kind of way... I could also see Over 4.5 sacks (-130) hitting, and maybe the 1Q Over 7.5 Points (+112).

Look at this GARBAGE ALERT ALERT From predict.com

One thing I always take into consideration when placing my bets is public perception. The Houston Texans may be 2-10, but in the public eye many still cant get over the fact that they are the Texans, and the Jacksonville Jaguars are a bad team. Too many times, the public lets prior success and overall perception take control of who they bet on. I am going to keep this simple. You have a 2-10 team on the road in the NFL that is a favorite??? Come on!!! Please. There is no way I would ever lay the three points on a 2-10 team, especially on the road. Jacksonville just beat them a few weeks ago, and I think the fact that Houston gave it all they had versus the Patriots and still came up short may have taken some wind outta their sails. I like the Jaguars in this game. Bet UNDER the posted total, and look for a Jacksonville victory of about 20-14 over the Texans. PICK JAX JAGS +3!!!

I think if there's anything to take it's the under. It seems logical that both teams will be running the ball more (less big plays/more clock running) and I'd expect more success stuffing MJD this time around. Again nothing really stands out, but if I took something it would be teasing Jags +9 and Under 49.5.

Good call on the Jags but I hit the over. My 10 point teaser pushed so I hope the Chiefs deliver on Sunday.
