49ers sticking w/ Kaepernick at QB

No surprise here, prob for the best.

The 49ers have announced Colin Kaepernick as their Week 13 starter at quarterback.
There will be no manufactured drama this week. "Colin, we believe, has the hot hand and we'll go with Colin," coach Jim Harbaugh said. It's the easy — and correct — call for a team that's far more dynamic on offense with Kaepernick under center. The more film teams have to study, the harder things are likely to get for Kaepernick, but unlike Alex Smith, he's capable of making plays in more than one way. Harbaugh says he "wouldn't assume anything" about whether Kaepernick is now entrenched, but it's hard to see him giving the 49ers a reason to go back to Smith and his pop-gun arm. Kaepernick will be a QB1 for the fantasy playoffs. Nov 28 - 3:02 PM

Good move. I like watching the guy play. He can do more than Alex Smith at QB.

Alex Smith could wind up in Dallas, Philadelphia, KC,or Minnesota. There might be others if their quarterback leaves.

They have way bigger problems there than Palmer IMO. They need a RB that doesn't go on IR every time he sneezes

So if he has a bad or mediocre week, then he's no longer the "hot hand"? The hot hand theory seems like a crazy way to pick a QB from week to week. I mean, is he saying that Kap is not better than Smith, but he's just hotter right now? What would make him less hot?

The only person who wants Alex Smith to start is Jeff Fisher.

Yeah he had a 143.8 qb rating with a TD before he left the Rams game and Kaepernick came in and played average.

Good call, I never did like Alex Smith. All he was good for was unders and road losses. Kaepernick seems to posess all the tools to be the future of the 49ers. Better Harbaugh give him an extended look now while the 9ers have some cushion than later when they may not.

LOL, Smith has already had a few concussions.... He would DIE on the field behind that horrid offensive line of the Eagles.

I doubt it Easy we have seen scenarios lik this play out too many times and know how they will end. Out with the old and in with the new! Smith is not Harbaughs guy but Kaepernick is and the bridge between coach, management, and qb took a big hit already flirting with Peyton and now this?!?! No way Smith would want to stay at this point.

Bad move if they stick with him for the rest of the season and playoffs. Smith was very close to being in the superbowl last season. Harbaugh playing with fire.

Smith was terrible on third down. That's your down where you earn your money as a QB. If the defense knows you are throwing, and they can come after you do you convert those third downs or does Andy Lee trot out on the field and we see the defense do their (awesome) thing? Harbaugh saying he thinks he can win with either QB isn't a lie, because of that defense. But Alex Smith's success as a QB is off play action, and on first or second down.
