Stanford Routt Is Still Jobless? Unreal

Guy was phenomenal with Oakland. He was the reason the Raiders decided they could let Nnamdi Asomugha go.

Go to the Chiefs and sucks just like the rest of the team.

Whatever team picks him up is going to get a steal.

As an Oakland fan he was far from phenomenal but he was a middle of the road cb 2 so he should have another job by now I agree.

I agree, I wont say phenomenal but good. Good enough were he should be playing somewhere. There are plenty of teams with players who are far worse

he was atrocious on the raiders once asomugha left, before he was best in nickle packages. he's terribly undisciplined and gets burned on deep routes constantly.

    You guys are nuts.

The guy had a better pass defense ratio than Darrelle Revis in his last season with Oakland. The number 1 rated corner statistically.

Additionally, Oakland played primarily man to man defense making it all the more harder for him.

Dude's a stud. The Chiefs horrible scheme screwed him up.

Guy would get flagged on consecutive plays like no one that's ever played. Most penalized cornerback probably in NFL history. A veteran and a dumbass at the same time. If you're 30 fukkin years old and you're still getting def pass interference 3 4 times a game no one is gonna pick you up

Dude sucked ass in Kansas City....and was a malcontent. If he could even hold someone's jock he would be on someone's roster. He went from starter to "not active" because the rumor going around Kansas City was he wasn't smart enough to pick up Crennel's basic defense and went from starter to not active in a week, then cut the next. Also he was blowing off the curfews that Crennel was setting for the team because he thought he was too good for a curfew. All indications after he left were confirmed when the Raiders were asked if they would sign Routt back...and Allen said "No thanks"...so what does that tell you about the guy?

I'm starting to think at least half this forum doesn't understand football.

Routt does get penalized, but that's not because he can't cover, it's because he plays an extremely physical game.

Every corner attracts penalties no matter who they are.

If they're good enough, you don't mind taking the penalties if he shuts down his receivers the rest of the time.

Routt in man to man coverage is easily a top 5 corner in the league and he's proven it.

Two big contracts say that he's thought highly of. Do not let the fact that the Chiefs cut him make you think the guy is terrible.

That would be far from the truth.

Yeah, he struggled in KC, but it was because of the scheme they put him in. Reports have said Routt brought this up with the coaches in KC. Basically, he wanted to play the style he played in Oakland which made him such a success.

Even though he did struggle with KC's poor scheme, he still led the team in interceptions.

It has nothing to do with being on the dude's jock.

Just expressing how shocked I am that no team has picked this dude up already.

Makes me think he wants major money and teams are not going for it.
