Looking like Ben might be out tonight

If you like the Niners, better get them now.

    I am hearing otherwise:

Ben Roethlisberger - QB - Steelers
Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette revealed to NFL Network's Michelle Beisner that the Steelers made the decision before Sunday night's Ravens game that Ben Roethlisberger (ankle) is healthy enough to play and will start at San Francisco.
49ers beat writers noted that Big Ben was "limping badly" and could "barely walk" while taking the field to try a few short passes in warmups. If not for Roethlisberger's history of playing up injuries, we'd be a lot more concerned that he won't make it through Monday night's game. Regardless, he's going to be without his usual mobility in the pocket.

    From NFL.com:

Ben Roethlisberger is hampered by an ankle injury, but his coach is feeling pretty good about his QB's chances to play for the Steelers on Monday night.

It was under this assumption I heard on the radio a few minutes ago; the guy must've been jumping to conclusions.

So I guess he's in really bad shape. I still don't see how you can gamble and take the Steelers given this information, regardless of whether he starts/plays or not.

Late line movement. 49ers back up to -3 at Pinny and even 5 Dimes raised the -1 to -150

Well, Steelers can still win with their defense alone. They know a win tonight practically clinches top seed, and they may not need to score a ton to win.

I just don't see how this game can be a big wager either way.

You're either relying on Ben with one leg against a great defense or Alex Smith against a great defense. Where's the angle?

49ers haven/t beaten a team as good as the Steelers all year, and as mentioned, added motivation of top seed at stake

He is starting Coin trust me,how good he will perform is the question........

Batch has had a full week of practice take the majority of the snaps so he should be able to get the job done if needed....

He looked fine to me last week in the second half just minutes after suffering the injury. Its been 11 days since then so if he was able to play then, he'll be able to play now.

If he truly had a high ankle sprain, that shit doesn't just go away in a week.

that logic is flawed..have you ever had a high ankle sprain? much worse the next day after you have been off it for a while..

To clarify, when I say not liking my +125, I mean it no longer has value. I DO still thinks Steelers win though.

He's playing according to ESPN. He won't be as mobile as normal, but I suspect Big Dan is partly correct knowing how much he likes to play to the audience.

No it does not but we a talking about the already proven toughest QB ever to play the position with injuries that would put the masses in street clothes on the sidelines...........

i have no doubt it somewhat a act, surprised the guy didnt get off the bus in a body cast..that said there no way he close to 100%, long as he cant run around extending plays i will be happy..

He is tuff but a high ankle sprain is a serious injury that will put the average pain tolerant player on the side lines for 4-6 weeks,so being 100% should not even enter ones mind........
