if the context is that the '72 dolphins time travel here and play the NFL game against these packers now, the packers would be better. athletecism and talent have reached new heights since then. there are simply far more extremely talented players competing to get into the NFL and then once they get there, competing to start

however if the question is more about who was the most dominant team in their time, you can't crown the packers yet. their defense continues to be a liability and keeps them from being as dominant an overall team as some in the past have been

Comeon? A QB with the best season in NFL history has to be worth something? They've enforced the same rules the same way for about 7 years now. GBs O-line has also been banged up all year. They easily beat Chicago and Atlanta on the road. I guess SFs win over 4-6 Philly was more impressive even though they allowed 500 yards and only won because Henery missed 2 chipshots where either one wins the game. Top ten all-time probably not....but who is in the salary cap era? Dallas and SF in the 90s managed to hog most of the top talent but you don't see that now.

they won their 3 playoff games by a 126-26 total score. all 3 playoff games were over at the half.

they had a +189 point diff in the reg season. Joe Montana had the highest qb rating off all time up to that point. they lost two games by 5 combined points.

Toughest two games coming up, we'll see what happens. Kind of a joke when your toughest games are Lions and Giants....but I guess you play what you are given.

They will lose tomorrow. So no not the best team ever. To Rodgers credit he is doing what a player with his talent should do, shred bad teams.

I will pre-face this by saying you play who is on your schedule and good teams should beat bad teams. But they have had a cupcake schedule to this point. Their defense is at best average and have not played a good offense that was clicking since week 1. They caught Chicago before Mike Martz figured out that 7 step drops are not conducive to good line play, when your line sucks. Rivers has been struggling all year and still put up 38 against them. Ryan has been struggling all season. They have played the inept Vikings twice, and the Rams.

Last week they gave up 26 points to the Bucs a team that coming in was AVG 15.8 PPG over their previous four games. If you stretch it back to 5 it gets worse...13.2 PPG.

GB's opponents average 21.8 PPG scored and GB is giving up 21.2 PPG. So they are holding their opponents to less than 1 ppg below their average.And that has been helped a lot by Chicago's recent offensive resurgence. Either way, that is not good, and I think it will come back to bite em.

Rodgers covers up a lot for an at best average O-line. They have really good depth at WR. But they can't run the ball and they don't play very good defense. I'm not sure that is a recipe for winning in GB come January.

What a joke. Everytime there is a team that is trying to go undefeated, and it is pretty often now in the sad state that the league is in, people come out asking this question.

Why do you think every other year we have a team threatening the 72 Dolphins? Is it because we are just blessed to be in such a GREAT era with so many great players and teams? Of course not. The league has never been this bad, which is why whenever there is a really good team with an awesome QB, they dominate the rest of this crap league.

Same thing with the quarterbacks. Records are being broken every year and it ain't because the QBs are just so damn awesome. What a coincidence after they change all of the rules to help the QB records are being broken.

In baseball, there was a reason home run records were being broken every year. Well, same in football. Not because of cheating, but there is a reason.

Rodgers is great, Manning is great, Brady is great, but put them in the 80s or especially 90s and they are right there with Elway, Marino, etc.

Same with the teams. Put this Packers, the 07 Pats, all the great Colts teams, put them in 1993 NFL. If you think they would be threatening to go undefeated every year you are crazy. This NFL is garbage.

Cherry picking aren't you! TB played a grueling MNF with Indy and then had to travel across country. Not the same whatsover. You want to compare....SF beat Detroit on a 4th down throw so lets see how GB does on 3 days rest. GB has alot of flaws and probably won't go undefeated but its the same exact rules that Polian got changed when NE grabbed Indy's WRs and then mugged the Rams receivers in the SB that same year. There are a lot of folks bringing up this Tampa Bay game. Ever look at the situation? Green Bay played a divisional opponent on the Monday night before, and travel to a divisional opponent 4 days after Tampa. It was a classic let down spot and they came away with the victory. Comparing what SF did to Tampa against what Green Bay did to Tampa? Might as well bring up what Green Bay did to SF last year.......
