A decent 2-1 yesterday (Bears & Texans), and I rather fancy the following tonight:
Raiders @ Broncos
John Fox takes charge of the Broncos for the first time along with a revamped coaching staff and a switch on defense back to 4-3. It's hard to find too many positives from last season for Denver, although the schedule had some nasty sections, and I'm not convinced they are going to get out of the blocks quickly this year.
Jason Campbell quietly did okay in silver and black last season (84.5 rating, 8W 5L), but the Raiders excelled in other areas. They were particularly effective on special teams and in scoring in unorthodox ways - seven TDS from returns etc. plus the most converted field goals in the league. I think those things will be enough for Oakland to win tonight, despite bowing to nobody in my admiration of Kyle Orton. Mystic Limey forsees: Oakland 24 - 19 Denver 2.5 units Raiders +3, 2.5 units Raiders ML at 8/5 odds
