not being a dick just asking why LOL at them? KenPOm and others like Sagarin produce models that at least get very close to duplicating the spreads for games. What else can you ask for as far as being accurate goes?

I know the spreads are accurate. Doesn't mean they are a good indicator of actually rating the teams.

Oregon is 15th, behind Wichita State and St. Mary's. That's laughable.

Virginia is STILL in the top 10 at #9. Laughable.

    Arizona #21? Yea, okay.

I'm fully aware that point spreads use the same data as these kinds of rankings. Doesn't mean the rankings are any good. Quite frankly, they're complete, utter trash.

If the ratings are trash then why isn't everyone killing the books? Arizona and Oregon both struggle early on. That is one reason why they are so low IMO

They want to screw those teams. No question about it. It's set up for the power 5 conferences. One year they went out of their way to reward mid majors, George Mason made the final 4.

Like someone else said though, I feel like blowouts are rewarded too much.

The committee is there to screw up things before the games actually begin. Someone needs to be responsible for games in Buffalo being part of the West bracket, the first-day games in Austin being scheduled so close together that the evening session began something like five minutes before fans were allowed in the arena, yada, yada . . . These people need to feel important.
