It's baaaaack! Another season is less than 24 hours away from tipoff. I'll be posting ALL of my plays on here from Friday Nov 13th until the NCAA Championship Game on April 4th.

    Last season was a success:

    205 - 149 - 13

This season will be even better! BOL

I'll start off with a few pre-season futures bets. I normally add one or two right before the tournament starts in March too.

Kansas 16/1 & 10/1 - doubled down as I think they are by far the best team in the country with extremely high potential.
    Iowa State 20/1
    Michigan State 25/1
    Indiana 25/1
    Uconn 30/1
    Syracuse 65/1
    Florida state 100/1

In so excited. It's like a holiday. I'm sitting at work looking at the spreads and refreshing, hoping more lines come out on games I've already capped. Counting down the hours til tipoff - just over 7 to go. Here are my plays for opening day, and hopefully will be adding 5 or 6 more if spreads become available.

    Gonzaga -4
Don't know if Sabonis will play or not, but this spread is way too low either way. Will be interested to see how the guards settle in, but people will remember how easily Wiltjer and Karnowski can score again tonight.

    Kansas -29
Even with Cheik Diallo still not eligible, the Jayhawks are the best team in the country right now. In a month or two they may not be - unless Diallo can play. But this squad was touring the globe all summer stomping on national teams, so this should be a night to show off.

    Vanderbilt -23
Size down low and great 3pt shooting against a team that lacks size and has terrible 3pt defense.

    Cal -15
Watch out for this team to potentially win the PAC12 this year. Solid returners with 2 big time frosh.

    Pacific +23
I capped this game at Arizona -15 give or take a bucket. I think they're going to struggle to score initially, while they figure out theyre guardplay and Trier gets suited in the college game.

    Texas -11
Washington was good last year, but they lost their two best players when the point guard Williams-Goss decided to transfer to Gonzaga, and their 7footer Upton couldn't stop smoking pot. Texas gets a 1000% improvement at coaching and has a mix of returners with size and talented incoming freshmen.

Yes they lost the country's top scorer Tyler Harvey but they were a good team last year & return other key players looking to step up. Mississippi State was below average last year and without superstar Malik Newman playing tonight they should struggle still.

Curious to hear your thoughts on the Bearcats. Think they offer some great futures value at +8500. Kenpom has them at #14 and despite getting no love from the national polls, they bring back their top 6 from last year and have a solid freshman class. They gave Kentucky a run for the money in the first half of that round of 32 game last year and can play with anyone with their style.

Whodey I typically like to bet on cincy in various spots throughout the year.

However, I see no chance of them winning a national championship. I see them as the 3rd or 4th best team in the American.

Well my first bet of the season didn't lose. It didn't win either. Wasn't a push tho... Gonzaga - Pitt game cancelled at halftime due to humidity and wet floor.

    DePaul -5
New (old) coach in town, who won more conf games in his three seasons as coach than the past decade since. Returning big man Hamilton and forward Henry can play with any team, and just need some consistency from an array of guards who can shoot the three. Western Michigan has key guard losses and will depend on a new point guard and returning forward Tava.

    Indiana -29
IU won their first game by 39, while Austin Peay lost theirs by 39. I see no reason this isn't another 30-45 point win for the Hoosiers, who look to take advantage of the same terrible 3pt defense that Vanderbilt took advantage of on Friday. Also look for center Thomas Bryant to make strides and find his college game down low.

    SDSU +5
So far it looks like the Aztecs will be able to score a little easier than last season. Freshman guard Hemsley put up 20 last week. Mountain West defensive POY Skylar Spencer anchors a lengthy, typically 3-forward set, along with Pope, Shepard, Shrigley & Chol, who dominate on defense and will likely shut down Utah's center Poetle for a second straight year. Poetle is on his own though, without fellow 7-footer Bachynski to help out. SDSU has owned Utah the past few years, including last year where the Utes star & now NBA player Delon Wright went ice cold in the face of Aztec defenders.

Up 31 with less than 2 mins left was looking like a push at worst. Then the white boys travel, brick, over-and-back... Miss the cover by a basket. Stupid.

    Baylor -2
They should dominate the boards in what I expect to be a defensive centered game. Rico Gathers is a grown ass man who's got 50-60 pounds on each of the Duck's undersized forwards. Both teams lost their PG but the Joe Young loss hurts even more so, along with the Dylan Ennis injury. If this game were at Baylor I'd expect a double digit blowout win, but on the road in Eugene I can see the Bears still grinding out a win.

I like the home squad here, with a mix between returning experience and talented transfers. Valpo hasn't impressed me in their first couple games and exhibition games as they let weak teams hang around.

    Kentucky -2.5
Let's talk matchups. Guardplay: Dukes Grayson Allen has looked like a superstar so far, but freshman Thornton looks overwhelmed and doesn't impress me, as with Kennard struggling to hit shots up to his potential. UK's Briscoe and Murray look solid, and we know Ullis can run the point. I think Ullis makes less mistakes at the point than Duke's guards will. Duke utility player Ingram looks solid and will continue to do so tonight, but in the paint kentucky has the advantage. Duke has been reliant on upperclassmen Jefferson and Plumlee but they're really not that good and will struggle against Skal & Lee down low. Should be an interesting game with lots of freshmen, but I'll bet on kentucky's defense outweighing duke's shooting early in the season.

    Oklahoma -4.5
Sooners bring back four great starters. Point Guard Woodard has the experience to shake any nerves of an early-season game at intimidating Memphis road game. With Hield and Cousins, the Oklahoma guards are way better than what memphis has to offer - which is basically Ricky Tarrant trying to blend with his 3rd school in as many seasons. Down low, I expect Shaq Goodwin to struggle vs Spangler, as he usually does vs good opponents. This should be a 12 point spread on neutral court, so I can still see Oklahoma covering easily here.
