Cavs LOSS psychologically devastating for Spurs.

up 9 pts. with 3:05 remaining.

Spurs played the perfect game AT HOME.. and STILL LOST

Spurs WON FIELD GOALS Battle – S.A. (49) CLE (44)

    Spurs WON FIELD GOAL % Battle – S.A. (56%) CLE (48%)

    Spurs WON REBOUNDS Battle – S.A. (41) CLE (37)

    Spurs WON ASSISTS Battle – S.A. (28) CLE (19)

Spurs WON PTS in PAINT Battle – S.A. (56) CLE (42)

Spurs WON FAST BREAK Battle – S.A. (15) CLE (9)

SPURS WON in MAJOR 6 PHASES of the Game and LOST at home.

they know now they could never best Cleveland in a series
no way they can play better than this.. night in night out.

    Cavs usually shoot OVER 50%

if all the stats were reversed. (and that would happen)
    CAVS WIN also.

Spurs will psychologically slow down, ... lose a step, out in 1st Round.

Duncan knows they were going to lose in OT. Bellinili too.
Cavs took all the wind out of them.

They have Pops as their coach, nothing to worry about. He will handle it.

    Spurs will read into it..
the fans of course will remain in denial.

but the Spurs' energy will ebb.. fade away.

they understood that they can no longer climb the hill.
or that they can get to the top of it.

Well, I can't argue the fact they are getting older. It is a young man's league now, for sure. Cleveland has the age advantage for sure, but the did get a little lucky. Hey last year when they won it all, I was hoping as a sports fan to see Pops and Duncan ride off into the sunset as world champs, they have nothing left to prove. To be honest, I am a die hard Patriots fan, and was kind of hoping, kind of, Belickeck & Brady would do the same this year. What do they have left to prove??? And Brady is close to 38. 4 rings, call it a day. Hate to see these great player hanging on, too many to list, Favre comes to mind. LOL.

    Brady has zero Rings.

    all tainted.

Montana (his idol) called him a cheat (4-0 Superbowls)

Aikman called him a cheat (3-0 Superbowls)

without cheating, Brady cannot enter conversation.

no way they get home-field without cheating all year.
and no way they beat Baltimore on the road.

barely beat them at home, required 50 trick plays to do so.
    WITH deflated balls.

bottom line, is Zero Rings. Pats will go out like Barry Binds, Roger Clemens, asterisks everywhere, replete with doubt.
to tainted, too many stories.. question marks.

Tainted my ass lol! Ratzz as usual you don't know half what you assume. Still no "official" ruling on deflategate despite it being reported only 1 of the balls was more than a tick low. The ball Indy just happened to turn in hmmm.

Btw Brady's "idol" yeah his best receiver the goat Rice recently admitted using stickem in nfl well after it was banned. I keep telling you these little "cheats" are very common in sports but you just wanna hammer the guys you don't like.

    yep. kid gets nervous..

let's see how they respond vs. the Wolves..

would not be too surprised is they were sluggish.. not slow, but bummed out.
They REALLY wanted that game vs. the hottest team in the NBA.. and they had it won.

Cavs were just too much, down the stretch.
and the Spurs did their job defensively, not like any of that comeback was easy looks.

Cavs simply too much for San Antonio

So what you're really saying is we should expect that type of play from Kyrie for the rest of the year into the playoffs? You say the spurs played perfect and lost, what about the cavs? If Kyrie even has an above average game instead of a phenomenal game they lose by double digits. They needed Kyrie to go perfect from 3 and score 50+ to even be put in the position to win. Lebron was non existent after the 1st until OT.

I'm not saying they are prepped for a deep run, but to think that this one game will affect their psyche to point of falling apart is hilarious. I bet you thought they would fold last year after the even bigger and more devastating choke job in game 6 of the finals.

We heard it when the Grizz upset them as the 1 seed that they were done and that was a sign of things to come. They just reeled off 12 straight wins against the up and coming Grizz that were supposed to take over the league after that including a 4-0 sweep in the WC finals. They were supposed to be buried after game 6 of the finals when they choked it away and just put together one of the better runs in playoff history. Criticize their age, I get it. Criticize their mental toughness, and you just lost your mind.

It actually doesn't HAVE to happen that way for the Cavs to win but it did. It's just like the year Danny Green broke the record for 3pters in a Finals game but didn't the Spurs lose that game anyway? I know that was the year they lost.

Also, if they matchup is favorable for Kyrie other than Lebron and it was because Kawhi was guarding Lebron you can except the majority of shots to go through Kyrie. Kyrie also has the 2 highest scoring games of any player this season so its not out of character.

I know that, but you have to look at games from both sides. No two games are ever the same. The cavs could play a better overall game as a team, but you won't get the 57 from Kyrie or the 100% from 3 pt line. I actually the bigger factor to the Cavs winning was not the 57 as a whole, because those points would probably come from someone else, but the shots he was hitting were pretty amazing. The easiest shot he probably had all game was the game tying 3.

They were so lost they blew Wolves by 30 on the prev game.
Is it the first time you see a good team losing to a shitty team? Very common.

they are supposed to blow by the Wolves.. AND the Knicks!!

    watch.

they are going to steadily decline now. They may play a great game,
but they will not be able to sustain greatness from this point on.

The Cavs game broke the spell,, shattered the illusion of being an elite team

regular season loss for a veteran team with 15 or so games left until playoffs, against a team whose player had a career night in scoring. Also, in overtime. Not sure thats devastating, but spurs get in these type of situations quite a lot. ( grizzlies upset, 2013 finals game 6, ...) When they become "human" they are very vulnerable.

I suspect the Spurs are going through what Miami went thru last year...they are suffering from the effects of fatigue as a result of 2 straight trips to the NBA Finals..and might I add a conference finals the year before...over the last 4 years, they have played more basketball than any other team in the league sans Miami...There was no way this team was winning 60 games this year..it was simply too much to ask..

Diaw and Parker played internationally the past few summers...and the injuries are piling up as a result..Popovich is too proud to say it and won't make excuses...He would bench the entire starting squad if he could until the post season...but they'd miss the playoffs otherwise...if the playoffs started tomorrow....Memphis would dispose of them in orderly fashion...which may be the best thing that could happen to them this year...they need the rest...

don't see them going to the Conference Finals.
If they do, it will be a miracle if they beat the Warriors.

Lol never listen to Ratzz got his head buried up his ass when it comes to knowing sports. Like I've said before most his "analysis" is either heavily biased or based on a very small sample. Anyone who thinks Pop and this vet Spurs squad was psychologically "devastated" by 1 reg season loss is a fukkin moron.

this is what i was talking about, gents..

after that Cavs loss.... playing in high pressure situations vs. top talents
    was going to affect them..

anybody can get down vs. any opponent,
but they seem to have little bounce back..

i do not expect the Spurs will see the 2nd Round

Its only one game though. I am not high on the Spurs but they did lose game 2 by 20+ to the Mavs in 1st round last year.

Cannot condemn them so quickly I don't think. Its on the road. Only need to win one on the road to win the series.

very true, about last year's playoffs,
but i still maintain, that the Cavs loss changed their minds about being able to repeat.

the Cavs are star studded, (but still a first year team)
the Spurs were at home with a 10 pt. lead with 3:05 left on the clock and lost.

i am pretty certain San Antonio will not advance to the 2nd Round.
that team is done. Cavs loss (though a while ago)
was the nail in the coffin of that dynasty.

    LOL!

it will be funny if they don't win it all and then you come here and say you warned us blah blah blah.."after that Cavs loss..."...the thing is, after you wrote this stupid post they started covering almost every game. Yeah they probably wont win the championship, but it's not like it is an easy thing to do. It's easier saying team X wont win the league than saying it will win.
This thread is one of the biggest fails ive ever seen on sbr. And you keep burrying yourself.

That Cavs loss is long gone. Theyre professional players and full grown up men. Stop with the Cavs loss thing, it's ridiculous.

LOL.. what are you talking about...?? .. the Clippers blew game 2 Griffin turnover end of game

and then showed up GARBAGE TIME in Game 3

Spur WILL NOT shut down Golden State...

the only guy that played really well yesterday was Leonard,
and that won't be enough vs. GSW if they get there
