    Valspar Championship

    3/12/15 12:04am $40.00 $614.00 Pending 3/12/15 7:45am Golf PGA Valspar Championship - Jim Furyk +1535
    3/12/15 12:04am $20.00 $1,100.00 Pending 3/12/15 7:45am Golf PGA Valspar Championship - Nick Watney +5500

Two wagers for this week's event. Haven't bet hardly any golf since winning on Brooks Koepka back at the Phoenix Open. Shorter course this week so I like Furyk's chances even though he hasn't closed the deal in 5 years. Watney has shown solid form so there's value there at 55/1.

hey wiz, u prob know this already...but for the benefit of others...

you know you can "dutch" these two plays to effectively make one play with the same net payout whichever guy wins...

in this case the resulting composite play is "Furyk OR Watney" @ +1165.51

by risking 77.40 on Furyk @ +1535 and
    risking 22.60 on Watney @ +5500

easy to fashion these with this calculator: http://www.oddschecker.com/betting-t...ing-calculator
and punching in the decimal format odds (16.35 and 56)
if you always put "100" as the "total staked", then the "profit" figure will tell you the American-odds if either selection wins
    __________

this is extremely useful for betting anything where you'd like to cover more than one fat-payout base with your bets...but clearly only one can win...perfect for golf, nascar, horses, etc.

    __________

last night i dutched Spieth, Furyk, Donald, Woodland together to give me +446.30 whoever wins...this way i treat the whole thing like one longshot bet and tend not to bother richarding around with hedging etc...which usually ends in

    good luk...especially to Furyk!

Thanks fit. I don't bet golf too seriously. Just occasionally will take a peak at the odds before a tourney and if I like something I'll bet it.

Furyk should be in contention on Sunday. The way things have been going for him, he probably won't win but then again there's no reason he can't.
