Man, 2-1 in the Anaheim game in the first ten minutes, no goals until the third, then 3-2 with 10 left and 2:20 min with the empty net. Hate when it goes down like that. Broke even with Ana ML hitting. Lost Houston in NBA.... Feeling good about today.

San Jose Sharks vs. Winnipeg Jets // Jan 24

At the dot

The San Jose Sharks and the Winnipeg Jets face off in a Western Conference clash at the MTS Centre. The Sharks (30-16-2) hang onto second in the Pacific Division and the Jets (22-24-4) are fighting for a wildcard spot.

Deep sea diving

The Sharks should just ride Patrick Marleau for the rest of the season given his performance against the Colorado Avalanche. Marleau put up four goals in the third period alone as the Sharks cruised to a 5-2 win. The Sharks are in position to take the lead in the Pacific Division. They are only a point behind the Ducks for first but the Sharks have two games in hand.
On the road, the Sharks are 13-10-1 this season and in their last 10 games they are 7-3. The Sharks have the second best goal differential in the West with +21. No one comes close to the Minnesota Wild’s +46. The Sharks are currently riding a five-game winning streak and are 3-1 n their last four games on the road
Clear the runway

The Jets once again couldn’t put together a three-game winning streak on Monday when they lost to the Anaheim Ducks; they haven’t won more than two games in a row all season. The Jets will be getting extra firepower tonight as they welcome Patrik Laine back into the starting lineup. He had been out for the past eight games. The 18-year-old has been a strong presence for the team whenever he is in the lineup. He has 21 goals and 16 assists in his 42 career games.

The Jets are 4-5-1 in their past 10 games and it’s no surprise that consistency has been the issue for the Jets all season. The Jets are 13-10-1 at the MTS Centre this year. The Jets need to put up a strong showing at home tonight, it is their last game at home before the All-Star break.

The Final Breakdown

As much as I would love to back the Jets here at home on the back to back, I just can't. The sharks are 14-5-1 Last 20 against the Jets, 7-1-1 when on the road. As the road favourite against the Jets, the Sharks are 5-2. Now for the b2b stats, Sharks are 12-8 last 20 and 8-5 on the road when playing the second game of a back to back while the Jets are 8-12. Not sure who's tending the crease, but Sharks have too much of an edge here, not to mention the low line...
