The Philadelphia Flyers head to Long Island to take on the New York Islanders in an evening match up. The Flyers (22-19-6) are still very much in the playoff hunt with 51 points this year, whereas the Islanders are trying to get out of the basement.

The Flyers are only 8-12-3 on the road this season, but the Islanders have not been a challenging foe for the Flyers in the recent past. The Flyers are 4-0 agains the Islanders in their last four games and three of those wins have come on the road. What’s even more impressive is a larger sample size of success against NYI. The Isles are on a three-game winning streak and have won back-to-back games since firing their former head coach Jack Capuano. They are outscoring their opponents 11-2 in that stretch. Thomas Greiss will get the nod in goals for the Isles on Sunday and has had a good stretch in the last 10 games. He is 6-2-1 with a 1.89 goals against average.


The Isles catch a struggling Flyers team. In the past 15 games, they are 3-9-3 and the Flyers are 0-7-2 in their last nine games on the road.
