I need to start cutting my amount down I think too. Unless I start turning things around

yes 60 min bets are to win in reg. 2-2, 1-1, 0-0 games last night. I would of made a killing if I bet draws on those 3 lol

I tell myself all the time to narrow my plays down 1-3 plays but on large cards I just can't seem to do it..If i like 5-6 plays i can't just play 2 cause right now I feel it will be the ones that loose

I know - I think most of us are the same way Jonesy.
I played 6 last night and passed on 2 that would have won. So ended up 2-3-1 when I could have been 4-3-1.

same! also, if i try to use the same strategy in picking my bets it's usually leading me to like a handful of games on most nights. with so many last minute losses. in other words, if my team is winning going into the final few and the opposition pulls their goalie, scores, and wins in a shootout. over a season i think we profit.

I've read some articles about cappers that play every pick that feels right leads to more profits over time. Example. At Even juice, Bettor A plays 100 plays and hits 60% profiting +20 units. Bettor B bets 1000 plays and hits 55% profiting +100 units. I like the latter. My problem is I can't even hit 35%

    That's funny Slam!
I can't say I hit anywhere close to 60% either!

Today I like Isles and Hawks.

LOL (laughing at what you wrote, not your win rate). and i agree on taking option B. im hitting 57% playing about 65%+ of all nhl games so far, which is steady in the precarious first month of the season.

i haven't looked at your picks, do you take a lot of dogs? or remain stubborn on certain teams? just trying to help if i can

ya it's tempting to bet those all-star/hot teams in any spot. part of why i stayed away from hawks, stars, and blues on saturday. i try to only do it for the right price (rivalry, coming off a loss or two or when facing another hot team = motivation). i've played the habs alot because the public keeps anticipating their streak comes to an end or that they aren't legit. hawks and lightning i've mostly stayed away from so far. price on them has been pretty bad most games considering they've shown some weakness early on.

this year i'm doing some write-ups to accompany my picks. mostly for my own benefit (but if it helps others too, great). if i can rationalise a pick without using trends or bias i'll tend to make it. feel free to comment or ask questions. i've made some glaring mistakes already this season, so always looking to improve

I mostly stick with dogs. I like to keep favs under -120, but if I like faves over -120, I'll look at regulation, and puck line

exactly! once you start picking some winners you're set then. another few stats i'll start employing is special teams differential, power rankings, blocked shots. just too little data to go off of right now.

but anyway, enjoy the games tonight!

yea i was for a bit over a year before i went to law school and took some time off capping. if i have a good remainder of 2015 on the hockey wagers i'll probably jump back on there in the new year. great site, just kinda pricey if you're a student.

Yeah I don't like the chalk. Ducks can't score and Blues defense is pretty solid even with Shattenkirk out (could return tonight). Allen blanked the Lightning on Tuesday and with the Blues missing some firepower up front with Stastny and Schwartz broken feet, I could see this one staying under. Gun to my head, my pick would be Blues -1, probably adding an empty netter to cash. Good Luck Jones!!

Agreed! it has benefited me a few games, like Dallas against Ducks the other night. But it's not always going to go our way unfortunately. Oh well, we move on to tonight...
