    NHL Thread 2015-2016 Season

    Finally NHL season is back!

    Wednesday 7/10:
Montreal vs Toronto: No odds yet, but I feel Montreal should get an easy win here.
    Montreal -1.5 @ 1u
    Montreal in Regulation @ 1.5u
    Montreal Over 2.5 TT @ 2u

    Reason:
Toronto is in rebuild mode, they did nothing during the offseason and losing Kessel is massive. The don't really have offense in this team anymore.
Montreal added Semin and Fleischmann. They have well balanced lines. It will be interesting how Galchenyuk plays as center. I think he will be alright, might take some games to get used to but I like it.

Montreal has very good odds right now. They should take this game easily. Pinnacle has the odds out.

    2015-10-07 Calgary vs Vancouver:
    Calgary TT Over 2.5 @ 1u
    Calgary ML @ 1u

Calgary's possession numbers was very poor last year, however I believe it will improve this year. Adding hamilton will help. Up Front they have two good lines with a solid defense that can shoot the puck. I think Calgary will win this game as well.
Miller not really sure about the guy, it seems he cant find he's groove again.
As it is the beginning of the season I expect a few penalties, and Calgary has great power play lines.

Montreal game, could easily been 2-3 goals more for Montreal, Post and Crossbar is killing me.

    YTD: 3 - 2 - 0 (+2.5u)
Not sure what happen in the Calgary game, they seemed to have a lot of pressure in first period, so went to bed thinking they should probably pull it off, woke up to this score, not sure what happened in the game.

    Leans for Tonight:
    Ottawa @ Buffalo: Over 5.5.
Big defense injuries in Buffalo: Bogo and Gorges (Still out?), which is arguably their best defense pair. Buffalo played great offensive hockey during the pre-season and it.

    Predicted score: 4 - 3 Ottawa

Philadelphia @ Tampa Bay: Tampa Bay in Regulation, Tampa Bay -1.5, Tampa Bay TT Over 3.5
I don't see how Philadelphia should stand a chance in this game. Tampa Bay has a very balanced team with scoring capabilities in all top 3 lines. Defense in Philadelphia is going to be a real problem, they have to do something about that. They shouldn't make the playoff this year.
Tampa Bay will win this game 5 - 2

Carolina @ Nashville: Nashville ML, Nashville in regulation, Nashville -1.5
Too many questions in Carolina. Their defense is terrible, starting the first D-pair with Faulk and Hainsey. They are at tops a 2nd D pair in this league. Nashville has great defense and will not let in a lot of goals. Forward their are also some questions but Forsberg is a beast.
Goalie Rinne is fantastic vs Ward that has had his best time past already.
    Nashville will take this game: 3 - 1, 4 - 1.

Edmonton @ St Louis: St Louis in regulation, St louis -1.5, St louis TT Over 3.5
McDavids first game, he is really a future superstar, I don't think he will have the impact Crosby had for the Penguins. Eberle their best scorer last season is still injuried and defense they look terrible. Talbot is decent goalie, but not sure he can save them in this one.

    Thursday 8/10:
Edmonton @ St Louis: St Louis in regulation (2u), St Louis -1.5 (1u), St Louis TT Over 3.5 (1u)
    - St Louis has great depth with Forwards, Two first lines that are premium.
    - Edmonton has McDavid's, but I dont think he will have the Crosby effect this year. Eberle is out which is a big break. Leading point scorer last year for the Oilers.
    - St Louis lost a bit of depth defensively but they still have 2 D-Pair that are one of the best in the league.
    - Edmonton Added Sekera and Gryba, but this defensive lineup will not scare any team in the league.
    - St Louis Goalie: Really solid starter and backup
    - Edmonton: Talbot in net, he is good, but he will not get the defensive support, plus he's pre-season was also indication of this.

    - Historically St Louis has it very easy against Oilers and at home I don't see why this would change.

Philadelphia @ Tampa Bay: Tampa Bay in Regulation (2u), Tampa Bay -1.5 (1u), Tampa Bay TT Over 3.5 (1.5u)
    - Forwards:
Tampa Bay: Great 4 lines. Really like their 3rd line with Kilorn Filppula Condra. They can all score.
Philadelphia: Top 2 lines are good, 1st line is one of the better in the league. 3rd and 4th is OK as well.

    Advantage Tampa Bay

    - Defense:
Tampa Bay: Really solid. First pair with Hedman and Stalman is world class. Depth wise they are looking great.
Philadelphia: They will have real problems with this defensive lineup. I don't really see a line that can shutdown the first and second line of Tampa bay. They should leak goals until they fix this.

    Big advantage Tampa Bay

    Goalie:
Tampa Bay: BIshop is really stable and great goalie.
Philadelphia: Mason had a fantastic last season, and a great pre-season, but with the defensive lineup Flyers put on the ice it doesn't really matter. Offensive power teams will score lots of goals against this team.

Tampa has some injury concern on Johnson and Kilorn, but I think they are ready as they both practiced with the team on Wednesday.

Pittsburgh @ Dallas: Pittsburgh TT Over 2.5: 1.5u
This game should be very open, expecting a lot of goals. Think Penguins will get the Win here, but can't be sure so taking the TT over 2.5.

Must wait a couple of games so teams play as expected. Penguins is controlling the game, but can't find the net. Kessel needs to learn the purpose of office. But again give this team a couple of games and the goals will come.

Spong, move him up to the second line, size and speed. Hope he can manage to take a spot.

    Leans for Friday night:

Rangers @ Blue Jackets: New york Rangers ML, Rangers TT Over 2.5, Game Over 5.5
I based this on that they already have had their first game and they also played well. Historically lots of goals between those teams, however early in the season so might reduce the unit until teams are synchronized.

Jets @ Devils: Jets ML, Jets in Regulation, Jets -1.5, Jets Over 2.5 TT
I know they played last night, but Jets team is young and it's better to have played 1 regular season game then none.

Maple Leafs @ Red Wings: Maple Leafs ML, Maple Leafs +1.5, Maple Leafs -1.5, Maple Leafs TT Over 2.5
They played good against Montreal. Not sure where the goals will come from. Again same thing, TOronto has already played. Babcock will play he's old team for the first time got to all the Toronto will be motivated to beat he's old team.

Coyotes @ Kings: Kings ML, Kings in Regulation, Kings -1.5, Kings TT Over 2.5

Kings had a really poor start against Sharks, they should be motivated to get back on track. Kings have already had 1 game and 1 day of rest. Arizona is the worst team in the league, this can only end 1 way.

Yeah it is hard in the beginning. Just continue, I think the angle is tonight, all team that already played a game should be better vs teams that hasn't played yet.

Also thinking of going 5u on Kings vs Arizona.

What a terrible team Kings is, can't believe they play that bad, I guess when the first goal goes in like that they just lost momentum and never found it again. Smith really solid, Domi good. So maybe my views of this team has changed, lets see what they can do, but Arizona good.

Toronto is now the worst team in my books.

    Saturday:
Tampa Bay @ Buffalo: Tampa Bay -1.5 (2u), Tampa in Regulation (1.5u), Tampa TT Over 3.5 (2u) - Line out yet.
Lehner out for Buffalo. Johnson will be in net. He's SV% is under 90%, he will not be able to stop Tampa with their offense. I can see this game going 5-2, 6-2 tampa. Early in the season but I like this game.
