The White Sox and Cubs wrap up this cross town Rivalry series when Gavin Floyd takes the mound against Rodrigo Lopez at Wrigley Field Sunday afternoon. Floyd toes the slab knowing his 3.48 ERA away from home is superior to his 5.21 home ERA this season. In addition, Floyd brings a sparking 8-4 mark with a 2.62 ERA in his last 12 teams starts during the month of July into this contest. With the Cubs owning the worst record (1-11) in MLB on Sundays this season, look for the Pale Hose to pull off the sweep here this afternoon.
When the Braves battles the Rockies in Game Two of this four game series they will send Derek Lowe to the mound against Jhoulys Chacin in Atlanta Tuesday evening. Lowe enters this fray with wins in five of his last six home team starts knowing he is 4-2 in his last six starts against Colorado. On the flip side, Chacin has issued 11 walks in his last three starts, and his 4.07 road ERA is more than 1.5 runs per game worse than his 2.47 ERA at Coors Stadium this campaign. For all of that the price is right in this contest and we're buying in.
Game Three of a four-game series between the Nationals and Cubs takes place Wednesday evening when Tom Gorzelanny opposes Randy Wells in the nation's capitol. Gorzelanny toes the rubber in solid KW form with four walks and 22 strikeouts in is last four starts knowing his home ERA (2.70) if a full two full runs better than his road ERA (4.89) this season. On the flip side, Wells has come up a loser in nine of his last 12 road team starts while he brings a terrible 8.36 road ERA this season into tonight's contest. With that, look for the Cubs to fall to 5-13 in its last 18 games against left handers here tonight.
