PIT - Ben Roethlisberger might miss just one game
Source: Pittsburgh Post-Gazette - Ron Cook
Updating a previous report, Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (knee) will have surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. Some are suggesting that Roethlisberger might possibly be back for Week 9.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
He will not play in the Week 7 game against the New England Patriots, but the team has a bye in Week 8. There is no official timetable for Roethlisberger's return, but it is possible he might be ready for the Week 9 game against the Baltimore Ravens, missing just one game.

DAL - WR Dez Bryant says he's coming back
Source: NFL Network - Jane Slater
Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (knee) told NFL Network's Jane Slater as he was walking off the field Sunday, Oct. 16, that he intends to play against the Philadelphia Eagles. '(You) don't have to ask me anymore, I'm good,' Bryant said. 'I'm playing against Philly.'
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Bryant has been close to playing, but the Cowboys decided to shut him down in Week 6 against the Packers. When Bryant returns, it will cut into the fantasy value of guys like Cole Beasley and Terrance Williams.

GB - RB James Starks may miss four weeks
Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafalo
Green Bay Packers RB James Starks (knee) is expected to miss around four weeks after undergoing knee surgery this past weekend. The Packers is considering Starks week-to-week at this point.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Some are suggesting he may only miss a couple of weeks, but it sure looks like he won't be back anytime soon. In the meantime, the Packers will use WRs Randall Cobb and Ty Montgomery in the backfield.

KC - RB Jamaal Charles not ready for full load
Source: The Kansas City Star - Terez A. Paylor
Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (knee) continues to see increased activity, but he is still not ready to assume the full workload according to head coach Andy Reid.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Charles is asking for more work, but the team still used Spencer Ware as the primary back. Going forward, that should be the case for the Chiefs. Ware can do the heavy lifting as Charles is continually eased back into action. This is a smart move for both players as it should help keep them fresh for what the Chiefs hope is a playoff run.

CLE - WR Terrelle Pryor suffers hamstring injury
Source: ClevelandBrowns.com
Cleveland Browns WR Terrelle Pryor (hamstring) sustained a hamstring injury during a Week 6 loss to the Tennessee Titans. Head coach Hue Jackson said the team will 'see how it goes' throughout the week in regards to his status for Week 7 versus the Cincinnati Bengals.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
That means Pryor is likely to be limited in practice this week. Hamstring injuries can linger if they don't get enough time to heal. The team will take it easy on Pryor as he works through this. Check back on Friday to get an update on Pryor's progress as he may be limited on both Wednesday and Thursday.

DEN - Gary Kubiak back at work
Source: The Associated Press - Arnie Stapleton
Denver Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak returned to work Monday, Oct. 17, after taking last week off to recuperate from a complex migraine that kept him away from the team in Week 6.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Kubiak took the week off as the Broncos played the Chargers (and lost) on Thursday night. This time, they have plenty of things to work on as they prepare to face the Houston Texans (and former Broncos QB Brock Osweiler) on Monday night in Week 7.

GB - RB Eddie Lacy being evaluated
Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky
Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy (ankle) was clearly limited throughout parts of the team's Week 6 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, but head coach Mike McCarthy was noncommittal when asked whether or not he suffered a setback during the game.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Lacy showed toughness playing through this ankle injury. He kept leaping over defenders and coming down gingerly on that ankle, but Lacy was able to get 65 yards on 17 carries.

TB - RB Doug Martin out of practice
Source: Tampa Bay Times - Rick Stroud
Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Doug Martin (hamstring) is out of practice Monday, Oct. 17.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Many felt Martin would be back after the team's bye in Week 6. He still may be able to play against the 49ers on Sunday, but Martin is likely to be eased into practice. We'll see if he can get out there by Friday.

CHI - QB Brian Hoyer on a roll
Source: NFL.com
Chicago Bears QB Brian Hoyer is the first Bears quarterback since at least 1960 to throw for at least 300 passing yards in four straight games.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
It sure seems like this is his job to lose. Jay Cutler may not see the field again if Hoyer continues to play well.

SEA - DE Michael Bennett avoids serious injury
Source: Seattle Post-Intelligencer - Stephen Cohen
Seattle Seahawks DE Michael Bennett's (knee) tests on his injured knee came back clean, according to head coach Pete Carroll.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Bullet dodged for the Seahawks here. Bennett was cut by Falcons OT Jake Matthews and had to be helped off the field on Sunday. We'll likely see him limited during practice as he deals with this injury.

IND - WR Donte Moncrief closer to return
Source: Colts.com - Kevin Bowen
Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (shoulder) is getting closer to returning to action, according to head coach Chuck Pagano, but there is still no set date for that return.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
The Colts could use Moncrief back ASAP, but they're not going to rush him. He's progressing well, but that doesn't mean he's close to returning. The team hasn't gotten much from the other receivers not named T.Y. Hilton.

TEN - WR Tajae Sharpe regressing
Source: ESPN.com - Paul Kuharsky
Tennessee Titans WR Tajae Sharpe has 'taken a step back,' according to head coach Mike Mularkey. Mularkey added that Sharpe works hard to fine tune his game, but he has to transfer that hard work onto the field.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Sharpe had a bunch of hype around him in the preseason. The rookie is talented and has the ability to be a strong starter in the NFL, but his game hasn't yet fully developed. Re-draft owners should have moved on already but we still have faith that dynasty owners will be rewarded in the future for their faith in Sharpe.

SF - QB Colin Kaepernick still starter
Source: 49ers.com
San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick will remain the starting quarterback in Week 7 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to head coach Chip Kelly.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
After one game, it is not time to pull Kaepernick. We saw his ability to run the ball come through and he didn't have a good connection with Jeremy Kerley. The 49ers should work on his timing/chemistry with receivers during the week of practice.

CLE - QB Cody Kessler to remain the starter
Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot
Cleveland Browns QB Cody Kessler appears to be locked in as the starting quarterback for the foreseeable future after head coach Hue Jackson stated as much Monday, Oct. 17.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Josh McCown should be ready to return in the near future, but it seems the Browns are going to stick with the rookie. Mostly panned as a third-round pick, Kessler has moved the ball with short/efficient passing. The Browns aren't going anywhere this year, so it makes sense to give the rookie as much time as possible.

MIA - RB Arian Foster not at full health
Source: The Miami Herald - Armando Salguero
Miami Dolphins RB Arian Foster (hamstring) is still not at 100 percent, according to head coach Adam Gase. Gase did say that Foster 'still brings something to the table,' however.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
With Foster still banged up, it was Jay Ajayi who shined against the Steelers on Sunday. The Dolphins seemed to have the right O-Line combination (finally) after going through six different versions up front. We'll see if Foster cuts into Ajayi's workload as the veteran gets healthier, and we'll see if the Dolphins can continue to run the ball better going forward.

CLE - WR Corey Coleman still awaiting clearance
Source: Akron Beacon Journal - Nate Ulrich
Cleveland Browns WR Corey Coleman (hand) has yet to be cleared for practice and will likely miss his fifth straight game in Week 7 versus the Cincinnati Bengals.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Coleman isn't back just yet. He might miss two or three more games as he continues to recover. However, now might be the time (especially in deeper leagues) to take a flier on Coleman. Make him a preemptive pickup and stash him on your bench if you've got the space.

PHI - WR Jordan Matthews battling tendinitis
Source: Philadelphia Inquirer - Jeff McLane
Philadelphia Eagles WR Jordan Matthews (knee) is dealing with a case of knee tendinitis, but he missed only missed four snaps in a Week 6 loss to the Washington Redskins and is expected to practice Wednesday, Oct. 17.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Matthews toughed it out through this injury in the game against Washington. If he practices on Wednesday, he might be limited. See if he can practice on Friday before considering him for your fantasy lineup.

CAR - Carolina sticking with PK Graham Gano
Source: ESPN.com - David Newton
Carolina Panthers K Graham Gano is expected to keep his job for the foreseeable future after head coach Ron Rivera addressed the topic Monday, Oct. 17. Rivera created a bit of a stir one day earlier when he was somewhat evasive after fielding a question about concern over Gano's kicking this season.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
If Gano keeps missing kicks, the team may move in a different direction. The Panthers need to get back on the winning track. At 1-5 they are unlikely to make the playoffs the year after they represented the NFC in the Super Bowl.

PHI - WR Dorial Green-Beckham seeing more action
Source: Philadelphia Inquirer - Zach Berman
Philadelphia Eagles WR Dorial Green-Beckham participated in 42-of-52 snaps in a Week 6 loss against the Washington Redskins.
[ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
He's seeing more action in terms of snaps, but Green-Beckham is only getting four targets per game. He's been targeted the same amount each of the last four games, and in the game against Washington on Sunday Green-Beckham hauled in only one pass for 23 yards.
