Never count ol horse face out he's proven to be as scrappy in front office as he was on field. Trade always a possibility if they don't like the scraps in free agency both Kaep , Griffin not exactly proven "character" guys or teammates as well makes it more a gamble. Bet they kick tires and check on how much McCarron will cost for one.

    Adam Schefter

With Brock Osweiler off to Houston, RGIII is on Broncos' list of replacement quarterbacks, per source. Could be visiting Denver.

I know egos are enormous with these guys - what's your opinion - would the Broncos have won the SuperBowl game with Osweiler playing???

I would say Osweiler would be a bust, but I think having Lamar Miller and D.Hopkins will make him above average. Hopkins had great numbers last year with nothing but crap QB'ing.

@Bucky yeah way that gm played out if he protected the football they could have won. Not like Manning had a great gm he made a few nice throws but Osweiler probably could have done same given way that defense played.

Certainly a sign of how terrible Qb market is though. That kind of $$ for a young inexperienced arm that didn't show much and only played well 1st half of most games they won. Gonna have another top D backing him , young explosive receiver, and good run gm , o-line so good situation for a young arm. Now had he gone to say the Brownstains that would be a wtf was he thinking lol?

Broncos did not want to match Texans offer, and can you blame them? I get slightly overpaying in a weak QB market, but Houston grossly overpaid IMO.

We also have to remember Brock lost his job as starter. It was his to win and he blew it plain and simple. If he does not get yanked in that gm Denver loses so probably no playoffs, definitely no home field which means no SB in all likelihood because they were not gonna win at NE. If Elway and Kubiak REALLY had no doubts about this kid then he would probably still be there. Might work out in Houston and he progresses but just another gamble I think.

Kaepernick had real potential but thought he had it made after he had a good season. He stopped working hard and thought it was automatic. Now he's lost confidence and looks lost half of the time. Just another athlete that got the big contract and lost the desire to work hard.

He's making less than Kaepernick, Tannehill, Cousins, and a bunch of other scrubs. 18 mil is the going rate if you want to sign just about any QB. This is mainly a result of the upcoming cap extension, so you're going to see lots of players where in years past you would consider their salaries "overpaid" but now it's just market average.

Wanted out. Wouldn't return Kubiak's or Elway's phone calls for past two weeks when back home in Scottsdale, AZ. Didn't show to Peyton's speech.

Good thing for Houston now they'll have an angry QB who wants to prove himself.

Based on the QBs they are targeting, seems they are looking for guys with more mobility than Cutler.

In a drastic move no one saw coming, Peyton Manning has decided to un-retire and sign a 2 year, $40 million deal with the Houston Texans.

Manning told reporters, “After talking with my wife Ashley I decided I just couldn’t hang it up yet.” He added, “Houston seemed like the perfect fit. I’m ready to move past the Broncos and chicken parm, and on to a new life with the Texans and BBQ ribs.”

Many viewed the signing as a slap in the face of Brock Osweiler, who just signed a four year, $72 million deal with the team on Wednesday. Once again Osweiler will battle Manning for the starting spot, which Manning took away from him during week 17 of the 2015 season. Osweiler didn’t hide his disappointment, telling the Houston Chronicle, “Peyton’s a real dick. He’s basically just trolling me now and it’s not funny anymore. I’m sick of being in his shadow.”

Rumors have swirled for months that Manning and Papa John have been messing with Brock Osweiler since he was drafted by the Broncos. Those rumors include locker room wedgies and mixing wasabi in Osweiler’s Papa John’s pizza garlic sauce. The signings of Manning and Osweiler by the Texans also ensures that Brian Hoyer will be living in a homeless shelter by next week.
