    Dolphins Sign Jordan Cameron, BUT...

...Miami is not rescinding the transition tag from Charles Clay.

Profootballtalk reports the Dolphins do not intend to rescind the transition tag from free agent Charles Clay despite Thursday's signing of Jordan Cameron.

The Dolphins are at least going to give themselves the option to match whatever offer sheet Clay ends up signing. The risk, of course, is that Clay simply ends up signing his $7.071 million tender. It's highly unlikely Clay returns to Miami with Cameron in the fold, but stranger things have happened. Cameron is a pure pass catcher, while Clay is more of a Swiss army knife H-back. The Dolphins could try to keep both and mix and match game plans.

Charles Clay signs offer sheet from Buffalo Bills

MIA - TE Jordan Cameron the go-to TE

Miami Dolphins TE Jordan Cameron will be the team's go-to tight end now that they didn't bring back TE Charles Clay, who signed an offer sheet with the Buffalo Bills. Cameron made the Pro Bowl in 2013 and has more athleticism than Clay, but Cameron has also dealt with multiple concussions.

Cameron is tremendously talented, but at this point seems prone to concussions. That's the big gamble both for the Dolphins and fantasy owners. If he goes down, they just have guys like Dion Sims to step up. If he stays healthy though, this is a tight end heavy offense and he could put up a lot of points. That's a big 'if' but one worth exploring.

Both had great years two years ago, Cameron in fact made the Pro Bowl while putting up great numbers without a quarterback in Cleveland. Than Clay underachieved last year while Cameron had the concussion issues with the Browns.

You haven't heard of Cameron because he was on the browns. He's a top 3 TE when healthy.

Cameron was a top fantasy hopeful last year. I can see him making an impact with. Tanahill

Cameron is one more concussion away from quitting football plus he is worthless as a blocker! Dolphins should have lit that money on fire and flushed it down the crapper!

Did Miami get a real qb in offseason to throw the ball?

Tannehill needs to switch positions or go to cfl. Not a good qb and he has had enough time to prove otherwise.

Dolphins fan here and agree 100%, he missed Wallace deep on way to many occasions. unfortunately the free agents at the QB position is awful. In the last 2 years he had an oppurtunity to get us into playoffs and always under-performed. How many chances do you get??

not really a tannehill fan either, but once brady, manning, brees are gone, he'll probably look decent relatively speaking.

go through the league and really look at the QB position for each team, including the depth chart. this position continues to be in free fall and it'll be another terrible draft class.

I haven't given up on him yet.

This is his last season in my eyes.

I think the kid plays with a lot of heart.

Which is more then we have had at that position in a long time.

No good WRs in MIA, might as well get another target, even if it is a TE.

If Miami doesn't draft one of the top WRs in the draft, they effed up.
