    Congrats to Gregg Popovich

The first NBA coach in history to get to 1000 wins while coaching for only one franchise!

He is the ninth to get to 1000 wins overall.

More of a case that he makes mediocre players better, which is the true measure of a great coach.

I wouldn't say he the greatest player of all time , but I would say he's the greatest player since Jordan. Better than Lebron and Bryant

Great coach, always seems to get the best out of his players. Tough, no nonsense, his teams always find ways to win.

    Congrats Coach Pop!

And don't forget that there have been four or five coaches that were players for Coach Poppovich who have coached in the NBA!!

Clearly Coach Popp must be doing something right!

Rumor has it that Popovich, then the San Antonio Spurs general manager, had a mind to draft center Scot Pollard with the first overall pick, instead of eventual two-time MVP, 10-time All-NBA first teamer, 15-time All-Star and five-time champion Tim Duncan, whom Popovich has coached his entire career.

Popovich was asked about that fateful night before collecting win No. 1000 in dramatic fashion against the Indiana Pacers on Monday.

"You know, you say that sarcastically but it’s a true story," he said, according to Scott Agness of Vigilant Sports. "It’s a true story. I loved the way Scot played. Timmy was really smooth and all that and so I wondered, 'Is that going to translate. Is he going to be tough. Is he going to do what he did … he’s long and he’s lengthy and he’s thin.' Scot Pollard was out there kicking you-know-what and taking names.

In retrospect where did Scot Pollard end up and how long did he play and I would doubt he has had the same success as Tim Duncan!

Hey man, Pollard did pretty well for himself. He's working with the Pacers media crew and on March 11, 2007, Pollard caused minor controversy when he looked into the camera during a 20-second timeout and said "Hey kids, do drugs." The light on top of the camera was not working and Pollard intended to get a laugh out of the media truck. Pollard apologized. Also In 2012, Pollard portrayed the titular Axeman in the horror film Axeman at Cutter's Creek. In 2014, he played the role of B.H. Born in the film Jayhawkers.

Did you do any of that?

Duncan has more impact on a game than anyone in basketball history

    Nobody knows the game here

He might be still best player in NBA

BIG MEN WIN..they would of beat Miami if Pop did not sit him at end of game

Just think how many more games he could have won if he didn't bench his starters all the time ???

And that is also how he has gotten more mileage out of them 44Mag.

Why play your Big 3 in a non conference game that won't hurt you in the long run?
