Sunday NFL Injury Recap per Rotoworld (Week 10)

    Thanks to Chet Gresham

Welcome to the Week 10 Injury Roundup. I probably should have all the Chicago Bears below here after their psychological and metaphorical destruction last night, but I'll just throw Brandon Marshall on the list to add to the pain and suffering. So on that note, let's get to the injuries!

The Arizona Cardinals haven’t started a season 8-1 since they were the Chicago Cardinals, but the 8-1 high they should be on was cut down at the knees on Sunday, much like Carson Palmer who is feared to have torn his ACL. This would be the same knee with the same injury he suffered in the playoffs in 2006. Drew Stanton will take over as starter. Stanton did complete 3-of-5 passes for 85 yards and a touchdown, but has been inconsistent for fantasy production this season when called upon.

Brandon Marshall suffered an ankle injury against the Packers Sunday night. There wasn’t much reason to have him in the game, as the Bears had been humiliated already. This injury was to the left ankle whereas his earlier ankle injury this season was to his right.

Ronnie Hillman battled a foot injury early in the Broncos win over the Raiders and with C.J. Anderson playing well and the game getting out of hand, they decided to rest Hillman. Anderson’s big day, 163 total yards and a touchdown, and with Montee Ball returning, this will make for a confusing week of projecting touches for this backfield against the Rams.

Reggie Bush started the game as the lead back, but suffered an early right-ankle tweak. After that he wasn’t the focus anymore and ended with just five touches. His upside is already limited by being in a committee, but he continues to suffer from these nagging injuries.

Sammy Watkins had just four catches for 27 yards against Kansas City as he played at less than 100% with a groin injury. He has a quick turnaround against Miami on Thursday night along with a tough matchup with Jonathan Grimes, so we could see similar results.

In a somewhat mirrored situation to Watkins, Lamar Miller was limited in the Dolphins loss to the Lions as he played through a sprained AC joint. He of course also will have a quick turnaround against the tough Bills run defense Thursday night.

Peyton Hillis suffered a concussion against Seattle on Sunday. Michael Cox took over as the third down back for Hillis, but then was also forced from the game with a lower-leg injury that turned out to be a fracture. They very much need Rashad Jennings to get back sooner than later.

Delanie Walker was forced from the Ravens game with a second-quarter concussion. He took a huge hit from safety Terrence Brooks and was down for several minutes. He may have trouble passing through the concussion protocol before the Titans’ Week 11 matchup with the Steelers.

    Other Injury Notes:

Dolphins' left tackle Branden Albert was carted off the field with a knee injury and has told teammates he is done for the season. . . . Dexter McCluster injured his knee against the Ravens and will need further testing. . . . Bruce Ellington sustained an ankle injury in the 49ers win at New Orleans. . . . Kansas City running back Cyrus Gray suffered a torn ACL in Sunday's win over the Bills. . . . Marquise Goodwin suffered a rib injury in Sunday's game against the Chiefs. . . . Seahawks tight end Luke Willson left the game against the Giants in the second quarter with an ankle injury. . . . Dolphins’ cornerback Cortland Finnegan left Miami’s loss at Detroit with an ankle injury. . . . Saints cornerback Keenan Lewis will have a Monday MRI on his knee after injuring it against the 49ers. . . . 49ers nose tackle Ian Williams sustained a fracture in his lower leg against the Saints. . . . Seahawks defensive tackle Brandon Mebane suffered a hamstring injury against the Giants. . . . Jaguars’ cornerback Peyton Thompson left the game against the Cowboys with a rib injury. . . . Cowboys’ cornerback Tyler Patmon was forced from Sunday’s game against the Jaguars with ankle and knee injuries. . . . Lions right guard Larry Warford was forced from Detroit's game against the Dolphins with a left knee injury. . . . Lions’ right tackle LaAdrian Waddle left the win over the Dolphins with a knee injury. . . . Raiders right tackle Menelik Watson was forced from the game against the Broncos with a concussion.
