    Ryan Mallett Named Texans Starter

Fitzpatrick to the bench. Makes sense to make announcement now with team on a bye this week.

mallet is not good, his arm is strong but he is going to have a rough time.
In NE he'd come out of games in pre season for stubbing his toe or some shit..while battling Jimmy G for the back up job..he either is a huge puzzy or didnt care

Either way, I'm fading Houston for the rest of the year. Nothing has changed about them since last year with the exception a couple of more wins.

Andre Johnson is fed up. Foster is soft. Watt seems to be the only person giving 110%.

Texans are on my sheet as an autofade.

i honestly look forward to this. i know he has looked like shit in the minutes he has had in preseason but he was a beast at arkansas. he's always been a loose cannon type but given time he might be able to develop into a good pro. and this is coming from a guy who wants the texans to continue failing.

The fact the Patriots gave up on him tell you he will be probably be average at best.

Not much choice for Texans. Fitzpatrick is not the answer, that is obvious.

They needs to see what they have with Mallet before the draft.

Love the mustache on Fitzpatrick though. To be honest, any team leader that plays pro sports in Texas should be required to have a Texas style mustache.

It's about time. They acquired Mallet, so they should see if he can bring anything to the table.

exactly. no one ever was fooled by the fitzpatrick charade. he was brought in to be their backup, but because he's a vet, they started him so maybe they wouldn't get off to a horrific start. but he was never going to be anyone's starter, he's terrible. this is not news to anyone.

Jj watt would be a better qb than either guy.

Jj gold would blow both guys.

Pick Mallet up. Seems like lots of guys who don't have the elite QBs are needing one of these QBs to pop and put up big numbers

I like it because I have AJ in 2 fantasy leagues

I don't think it will change the result of the Texans season though, but it will provide clarity that they do not have their answer to QB currently on their roster.

as usual, "blame the quarterback", not the coaching, not the play calling,
not the defense and not the offensive line.
i've seen Mallet play. Fitzpatrick is a superior quarterback.

I'm not sure it's totally fair to judge Mallett yet, but my speculation is that you are right on point here.

Really you think so? One dude is Ivy League from a talent standpoint so so and one is all world coming out of high school sec battle tested...mallet is Drew Bledsoe 2.0 he's a statue back there but he can make ALL the throws fitz should never be your long term starting Qb he's a stop gap quality backup Qb. Qbs without mobility are a dying breed and for good reason ...so we'll see how mallet will do but from an ability and talent standpoint it's not really close.

Maybe but Fitzpatrick is God awful. Has no business doing anything more than holding a clipboard and being holder on xp.

Still waiting for you to post your documented NBA winning season thread. Your bitch ass stopped replying when I offered to do a heads up NBA contest for 10k cash minimum. I see the bitch in you.

Houston is a possible 6 win team. No shot at playoffs and Mallett is unproven in NFL and has one of the worst work ethic and football iq for a Qb. Aside from Watt their D is below average. All other decent players aside from Mercilus are injured/beat up.

They're in the forum. Feel free to browse around and find them. I'm not putting in any extra effort to satisfy you.

Houston D is average? Watt, Mercelus, Clowney, Jonathon Joseph, Swearinger, Cushing, Kareem Jackson I would say Houston D is far from average. Their offense has easily one of the best wr duos in the nfl. Easily. And a top 5 rb. Houston may sneak into playoffs.
