NFL Players That Will Be Reinstated Upon Approval of Drug Policy

    Adam Schefter

    1 min ·

Upon agreement of term sheet for new drug policy, these players will be reinstated: Broncos WR Wes Welker, Rams WR Steadman Bailey, Cowboys DB Orlando Scandrick, Giants OL Eric Herman and former Vikings DE Spencer Nealy.

WRs Josh Gordon and former Colt LaVon Brazill will have their season-long suspensions reduced to 10 games.
Gordon continues to be allowed to work out at the Browns’ training facility.

The seven above names are part of the estimated 20 who will be affected by the new policy once it is approved by the NFL, which is likely to occur in the next 24 hours.

So why isn’t Gordon’s entire suspension be wiped away?

It’s because his failed test for marijuana was his fourth violation, and this is what the new drug abuse policy calls for, according to Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot.

Apparently, since Gordon's weed violation happened in 2013, "...the NFL and the NFLPA are using the old threshold from 2013 but applying the new sanctions.”

League has lost control. Inmates now run the asylum.

Probably, although his snaps may be limited.

Wes Welker, Cowboys CB Orlando Scandrick, and Rams WR Stedman Bailey are all allowed to return to their teams immediately and play Week 3 after the NFL and NFLPA agreed to a new drug policy Wednesday.

All three players can return to their respective teams' facilities Wednesday morning and begin practicing with their clubs. Welker has already been cleared of his preseason concussion and should be back in the lineup Sunday against the Seahawks. The Broncos will have to see where Welker is at physically after he hasn't practiced with the teams for a few weeks, but we'd expect him to be out there at least in a limited role.

No real line movement since this info came out

Assuming it was already factored into the line or Welkers presence doesnt mean much right now in a limited role?
