My dark horse to watch out for this year is #13 Houston...they are loaded and return most of their starters from last years squad...they also have an easy schedule and could very well run the table....and yes, they are more than capable of playing with anyone in the country!......just ask Florida ST who got dismantled by them in last years Peach Bowl 38 - 24!...Huge game is the opener when they play Oklahoma on a neutral site.

Would love to see a team like Houston win it all with their schedule. Would see total change in college football. Why should teams like lsu and bama play their schedule and lose out on opportunity to play for it all with 1 loss when Houston and Ohio state get to play their schedule and get in.

Would hopefully force the bigs to lower in conference games meaning we would see more ooc games.

totally agree Newguy...actually upon further review, the Cougars schedule is more than respectable...the play @ Navy, @ Cincy, and they close out with Louisville (an ACC contender this year) and Memphis (very solid squad) in addition to playing #3 Oklahoma (Big 12 powerhouse) in the opener...also QB Greg Ward will be a finalist for the Heisman trophy barring injury!...

Houston is overrated. OU finished their season before it begins. The Pac-12 is too tough to have a team with just one loss. Stanford is over-rated. So is Michigan, which is typical Harbaugh. All hype and no results

Tennessee too low. Michigan State, Iowa and Houston way too high.

    Baylor probably way too low.

Tennessee too low? They have two teams on their schedule they haven't beaten in 10 years. I don't think they deserve to be higher unless they prove they can beat one of them

What's to prove? It's preseason. They should have beat OU and barely lost to Alabama. They could easily be rated No. 1.

if we are playing the should have game, they should have lost to Georgia and barely beat a horrible South Carolina team. They have potential but they haven't proven anything. They're right where they need to be.

Well, let's say you got captured by ISIS and they said, you pick the winner and we spare your life or its off with your head. How many of these teams are you going to bet straight up versus Tennessee in Game 1?

Tennessee has the most important game in their program since the Bcs title game vs Florida this year. It doesn't even matter if UF comes in their winless. If they can't beat UF this season and get that gorilla off their back, when will they? It would be a program killer. All their momentum, gone. Couple a UF loss with a UGA & Alabama loss and Jones could easily be canned at years end.

Oh now, RudyRooRoo, you don't has to be so mean.

What would you like me to say? Coming into the season, they have as much returning talent as anyone in the country and have recruited lights out. I could not bet against them with any team on the board. I would basically rate them No. 1.

Am I going to predict them No. 1? No, all of these ratings will look fairly bad at the end of the season.

Historically, 1 of the preseason top 10 finishes well outside the final top 25 poll. I say its Tenn this year....way too much hype and a brutal 4 game stretch early where the wheels may come off.

It's tough to make it through the SEC without getting beat on a down week. They were one of the better teams in the country last year but let down a couple of times.

Their coach leaving was the reason osu didn't win it all last year. The coach is a genius. But hey where is my longhorns. They need to put a black coach in the top 25 and charlie is the man.
