I get the sense that Moraga is on the decline and this could be a chance for Sergio to step up and take the mantle as the best Pettis in the UFC currently. However, if the Moraga that fought Benevidez shows up, he will give Sergio a lot of trouble and would probably win with his clinch and wrestling. My gut tells me that on short notice he will again be slow and inactive though. I like Pettis to keep it standing for the most part with his pace and foot work and technically outstrike Moraga to decision. Tough call.

I remember he came back from bellator won 3 straight then got kod by cote and for some reason got cut? Just checked though he fough volkman in a smaller show won by submission so they brought him back... tough matchup could be some exciting ground work in this one, both really good in the clinch and ground .. Saunders super long for the weight class this will either be fireworks or snooze fest if they neautralize each other completely

Moraga doesn't seem too positive about the fight game anymore. This has gotta be a negative for him. If fighters lose their passion for fighting, that usually leads to poor performance.

That is just real tbh, he doesn't wanna fight for a different organization at the age of 32 he's being realistic about his future and he's saying he's fighting for his life and career right now.. actually like that more for him .. should be his best camp in a while and he's gonna put it all on the line. +140 lets see what he can do

Yea, I agree, he's just keeping it real. But if he's sparring hard every day, that's proven to not be a good method. Most fighters have cut down their hard sparring big time and perform better.

I gotta keep it simple with sherdog.. This fight I think you stick with the basics in other words.. Here are the basics -

Moraga has fought the very best in the UFC and held strong for years now, Sergio has not..http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Sergio-Pettis-50987

I like Moraga and even better as the dog... IN like Flin.......

If Moraga loses this fight it will be by decision.. (could hedge to play it safe).. Moraga is very tough to finish these days and he is a legit veteran of the UFC.. 32 years old also isn't that old for these little 125 pounders either (Moraga). http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/John-Moraga-55159

I'm kinda surprised no one here wants to give Sergio even a little props for his skills. He does a lot of things pretty well. IMO the only thing really holding him back is his lack of power. He has a real good coach, and a good amount of fight experience for a young guy... those are the guys who can surprise you by making big improvements from one fight to the next.

Well he hasn't shown me much in his last 3 fights. I break it down again off sherdog..

He got KO'd by baby face 3 fights ago who kinda sucks - http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Ryan-Benoit-48566

Sergio then beats a journeyman on the decline in Chris Cariaso (not impressive) - http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Ryan-Benoit-48566

Sergio Then beats another very average fighter but nothing special in Kalades who hasn't fought since.. http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Chris-Kelades-51576

And now he faces Moraga whom I think is a step up in competition.... http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/John-Moraga-55159

I give Sergio a chance to win by decision but I also think veteran Moraga gets this and maybe by sub...

i actually think sergio pettis has a ton of skills and is still developing , people might forget hes only 23 years old... hes a young pup in this game while moraga has fought some of the best in the 25 division already and is fighting for his career. The odds arent right here imo and at +140 in a super close fight where i just slightly lean moraga ill take the + money all day.... if the odds were +140 pettis id probably take a shot at him as well... but you gotta take the odds with a fight this close imo sergio still has a super bright future in mma imo

Yair has that wild style made for BJ Penn of years ago to flatten him in 45 seconds. So now do i guess if this guy can get motivated or is this gonna be his last fight. Only guys that know are in the Jackson camp and probably the oddsmakers with this high line. This has no bet written all over it.

My gut is screaming at me that this is Penn's fight to steal back a small bit of his reputation. That's my gut though. I'll be laying off most likely.

    Close sources told me ...
id actually enjoy Dodson vs Rivera more but for Rivers career it kinda sucks I would've liked a nice carraway beating then get a top 3 before a possible title shot.. 135 is to tied up currently to have Rivera fighting for the title right After Dodson if he beats him so he'd need to fight another top guy right after

for entertainment purposes I hope it happens though that fight has fireworks written all over it. Hopefully meisha can ice caraways pussy lips for him for a quick recovery though

Has anyone looked into this Chase Sherman kid who is fighting Walt Harris? I think he looks terrible. Lost his UFC debut to Justin Ledet who landed straight punches at will. Won his fight before that because his opponent busted his knee throwing a leg kick. Showed nothing in that fight.

And then this: Google his fight vs Sammy Collingwood. Pure entertainment. Dude rides out on a tricycle, comes in winging ridiculous jumping punches, and then Sherman "KO's" him with what looks like a phantom punch and a dive. Watch that fight and tell me it wasn't fixed. Dude got KO'd by a punch that didn't land.

Walt Harris isn't great but he should handle this clown.

No line yet but Harris isn't especially respected so it may be decent. I think he's faced much tougher competition and is training at ATT with better. He should get the job done.
