Out of curiosity, why Jackson over Makashvili.

Makashvili looked so strong when he fought Hacran Dias.

Its tough to imagine him losing to a relative unknown who hasn't done much in the UFC so far.

Not to mention Jackson is a late sub I believe.

My thinking is this will be a grinding snoozefest. I think the line is just too high. It should go the distance as well

At the weigh ins, I got the impression Makashvili was thinking Jackson isn't on his level. He might be looking past Jackson. Other than that I'm not sure how Jackson might win this fight. I had Makashvili as a lock. Maybe TPowell will prove me wrong here.

I think subs are the only thing Jackson has, Makashvili having a strong wrestling background and looking like a strong wrestler could mean Jackson won't get him down to work his subs. Jackson got triangled from the bottom when he fought Rony Jason, although it got changed to a no contest when Jason tested positive for something. His sub game might not be that strong, its hard to tell.

This fight us going to a decision IMO and Jackson hasn't looked bad in his fights, he's just gotten finished by sub by tough guys

Think I'm with a lot of guys on the forum outside of Jackson and maybe Barnett. Hopefully we all get it tonight

4-3-1 on the night. Thought Barnett was looking very good until that sub which sucked and Dwyer was the right side at +165. Not sure how I got sucked into that Ortiz play though. Jackson really should have won that fight instead of drawing. Would have been nice to be 5-3 with 2 200+ dogs in there but still a solid night. Only surprise was the Ortiz fight and how randy brown came back against Dwyer but those eye pokes were killers so idk

Way to go TPowell! Good call on Jackson. I never got the chance to see the fight, but you def smelled trouble from makashvili.
