What do you guys think about the Brown/Hendricks fight going the distance and Brown winning by decision?

My thinking - Both are hard to finish, Hendricks especially!!! Brown usually does press in fights and should be the more active striker standing.. Brown should be in great shape and it's only a 3 rounder too... Brown could conceivably get the nod if he stays off his back..

Pending3/14/15 11:00pm Props Fighting 1207 Brown wins by 3 round decision +490* vs Not Brown by 3 round decision

Vegas gives Hendricks wrestling the credit. Brown can be on his back all day. I would think Brown would have to knock him out.

^^^Watching the UFC countdown Matt Brown is living and breathing Johny Hendricks day and night. I’m just hoping he’s been working day and night on his take down defense.. That will be Johny Hendricks world when grappling…

Matt Brown’s best chance me tinks is to keep it standing and to bang hard… Win by decision maybe?

Things we maybe should start to factor in when capping fights at the top levels -

What fighters seem to fight better coming in as the dog as opposed to a favorite in big fights???? Do you think that is relevant? Is that something we should consider when betting on certain fighters? I am a believer in current trends...

Just pondering on this for some reason tonight?????

Lawler busted up Johnny both times they fought and I give him credit for having a steel chin. Maybe Brown can land a few clean flush? I'm pulling for Brown as well but no bet (yet).

Do you believe a fighter, lets say Matt Brown, goes to BFO, sees that he is a 3-1 dog and decides, hmmm I am going to train harder because of this?

No Beelz, I don't think the training or preparation coming into a fight of this magnitude would be all that different... I do think it could be more of a mental frame of mind change that could be beneficial for some fighters coming in as the big dog rather then a huge favorite perhaps though.. As in the fighter being a bit more relaxed, as in nothing to lose. Expected to lose so let me prove everyone wrong type of thinking and really bring it come fight time.. Mentally no pressure - to fight more effectively in other words...

RDA and maybe Matt Brown seem to fit those molds anyways at a quick glance...

Just was thinking if that should be considered ever in capping fights for certain fighters? I've never considered doing this before, I don't read about it, I don't stat crunch that, and was just wondered if I should and could it help?

I don't think that is what is meant here.

Either way it seems relevant. How one fights up or down to competition and off losses. A lot of guys don't have enough situations to conclude anything though. They may not train harder exactly.

If Hendricks drops Dolce and now comes in looking great making weight easily......would that not be telling a bit as to his attitude towards this fight?

It is all mostly crapshoot with fists flying but I can see where this stiuff could a matter a bit.

Do NFL guys not mention teams W-L as a fav/dog. Way more numbers in the NFL sure. But I think it could matter a little bit in MMA.

RDA is going to have to bully and keep the pressure on Showtime. I know he has some ridiculous and underrated submissions because of his awesome striking skills, but it's tough to ignore the generous odds RDA is getting. Really pulling for RDA to win the belt and surprise the MMA community.

A.Pettis vs RDA . Does Pettis finish him?/maybe. Does "he have" to finish him? I don't think so. RDA vs Jason high looked like he was gassing too me. I think he'll he ready. Melendez put on a good fight against Pettis hard to keep that same pace for 5 rounds so Pettis had to finish him. Pettis +300 for decision, maybe worth a shot RDA is durable. No idea how much the public likes Pettis here.

Reem was winning every fight before he got knocked out. Good bet but I'm so biased against Nelson I doubt he gets put out in the first. We will see who the stronger starter is .. and you know Roy's over hand right in coming and no one can defend.

Yep, Reem hasn't fought past 1st round in 3 of his last 4 UFC fights.. http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Alistair-Overeem-461

Before that it was mostly all 1st round finishes for Reem while on the juice during his entire MMA career....
