Fabio Maldonado is a boxer who will look to keep this fight standing. He has good head movement and throws a very effective jab. He throws in bunches and accumulates damage. He does not have KO power, He does also work effectively in the clinch, ripping body shots. He has had issues in the past with takedown defense (but against better wrestlers IE Villante, Kingsbury), but I feel he will be able to stuff Stringer's shots with ease. If the fight were to hit the ground Fabio has decent grappling and can work his way back to his feet.
Stringer has OK striking but will need to take Fabio down get top control to win this fight. Unfortunately for Hans, his wrestling is pretty basic. He shoots a pretty bad double leg. His other method of wrestling is the clinch and trip. He does like to clinch up, but that is one of Maldonado's strengths, as in a lot of his fights, he does a lot of damage in the clinch. He throws loopy punches and is hittable standing. Additionally, Stringer has not been tested. Besides his split decision win against Barasso, he hasn't fought much good competition.
I see Fabio being able to dictate this fight standing. He will have the better striking and if he is able to stuff Stringer's takedowns he will win this fight. I think Maldanado is a good bet at -165.
