I'm not going to argue about the science of Fox's physical advantages, I'm not knowledgable enough, but I'd assume that she carries some sort of advantage, large or minute, because of her history as a male. Perhaps I'm incorrect, but that's what I think. I've seen conflicting scientific reports, so I'll wait on something more concrete before changing that view.

With that said, she is correct that "male" and "female" are pretty broad in a sporting context, and hard to define. It has become abundantly clear in the last decade or so that it is impossible to separate everyone into male/female categories; intersex people do exist, and there are millions of people who, often naturally, do not fit into either the male or female category.
