Tell me about your favorite MLB futures bet

I'll be putting down a lot on the Astros at 15/1. This is their year to bust out. I just know the Red Sox are the ultimate sucker bet this season. The books are begging for action on the Sox with the additions of Sale, Thornburg, Moreland, and Tobias, but I guarantee the Red Sox don't reach the World Series. Watch Sale end up with a 3.50 ERA and the "Super Sox" end up winning 88 games and busting out.

    White Sox OVR 68.5 wins.
Just don't think they're that bad. Frickin Brewers had a higher number. Chance of a fire sale late, but not usually their MO.

Very down year for the AL Central too.

    Mariners UND 85.5 wins

Every year people say Seattle's underrated, and then they fall apart. I'll believe it when I see it.

I agree Astros will be better offensively, but, their main problem last year was pitching & they are in even worse situation than last year in that department.

I won off the Cubs last year. They were 3/1, in some places 5/2 to win the World Series before the year started, and some people doubted just because of the drought. Also won on Cubs over 93.5 wins. The Red Sox aren't comparable with their crappy 7/1 odds and everybody thinking they're hot stuff.

St Louis over 83.5 wins....think their pitching will be better than they showed last season....plenty of offense to help

That's an incredible bet. Likely he takes another step up in HR total. And he looks to be hitting #1 behind Schwarber and ahead of Rizzo. Good chance he hits 45+ this season.

The disparity between the opening wins on teams when lines first came out to now is INSANE

Shit IDK what to do on a couple now. Teams totals have risen or dropped by like 3 or 4 games

    That is unheard of ......

A lot of value in the Cy Young odds I think. Carlos Martinez +2800, Jose Quintana +4000, Rick Porcello +3300 worth a small wager imo. How often can you get last years Cy Young winner at 33/1?

Didnt say they were comparable just said the hype was on the cubs last year and they won. You seem to point out that the Red Sox will fail because people are on them. Im not saying i think the Sox win, I think their bullpen is weak, porcello in my opinion had a fluke year, price has never achieved in the postseason and I think clutch power hitting might not be there but I do think that sometimes just because a team is hyped doesnt mean you automatically write them off which is the impression i got from your statement and why i responded

What does the addition of Tobias have anything to do with the Sox futures bet for this year? He's a low level prospect who is at 2 years away from sniffing the big leagues.

I think Porcello is due for some serious regression. I'm not convinced last year was anything but a fluke. Martinez is a smart wager at 28/1. I think he's in for a big year.
