On a serious note, the "why" is because the yanks have no serious interest in signing him. They bought low, trying to sell high. That's the "why" of it.

Going out on a limb taking 29 teams against 1.

How about telling us what team will win.

And then I will offer to wager with you any amount of money or points -- you take your team of choice and I'll take the Cubs.

Makes sense. LH relief is the Cubs weakest spot.

But will Chapman accept not closing? Rondon is pretty entrenched and has done a very good job.

Cubs have lot of good hitting prospects to offer at virtually every position.

then you would have a 0-109 overall record over the last century

No I wouldn't because the wager had never been made or offered before and is for this year only. Irrelevant.

You want the Cardinals and I'll take the Cubs? How much?

Damn, are the Cubs trying to win 120 or what? If they don't win the Word series this year they will become one of the biggest busts in baseball history. Just like that team that had a 10 game lead in their division with like 20 games left and blew it. OOPS!

No, if they don't win it, it will be more like the '01 Mariners.

Competitive teams should jump on opportunities to obtain quality pitching. MLB pitching staffs are over populated with meatballs and has beens.
