Interesting list. No Jackie Robinson? Joe DiMaggio? Miguel Cabrera?

good list, but Cal Ripken? Dude played every day, but was above avg at best. Look at his career stats, not impressive and Im not sure he ever played in a playoff game. Gets credit for being an Iron Man, but 5th best player ever? He's barely in the top 50. I agree with your top 4 though, although I might have them in a different order. Stan Musial should be in the top 10...

    1. Babe Ruth
    2. Willie Mays
    3. Ted Williams
    4. Ty Cobb
    5. Stan Musial
    6. Roberto Clemente
    7. Rickey Henderson
    8. Barry Bonds
    9. Rogers Hornsby
    10. Mickey Mantle

didnt include pitchers, cant really combine position guys and pitchers

    Ripen is a joke

Belongs in health hall of fame, that's about it

I think lifetime avrg just around .275
that's barely over 1 hit per game

He was moved from 3rd to SS...
if these were 3rd basemen numbers, he would even be considered for HOF let alone "one of the best"

Cabrera and Pujols are going to have to be on this list at some point in time- not just because of the numbers but because they played a position other than DH or 1b (for most of the time).

or would he have taken steroids if he had a healthy hamstring?

makes no sense to take steroids if you are too hurt to play anyway.

anyway all MLB players had the opportunity to take steroids so if you chose not to that just means you werent willing to sacrafice your health for a competitive edge on the field.

all athletes know the health problems steroids can cause....

so if you do steroids that just means your love of the game and your will to succeed is so strong that you would potentially sacrafice your health to help your teammates win games and bring home a championship.

one of my favorite players of all time was Ken Caminniti. That guy would run through a brick wall for his teammates. He played an entire season with a torn rotator cuff. Thats how tough he was and how much he loved the game.

I think I read Tony Romo and Dez Bryant in OP's list.
