SF Giants is a large market. Their radio station is the third largest sports radio talk station behind Boston and NYC. Can't compare them to San Antonio.

Maybe comparing markets is apples to oranges but both teams lack self-promoters and by today's standards are "boring".

It's obvious why they both win, they have very similar styles. I'm not talking about that.

They just lack the wow factor

Curious what the ratings were for this series

Wow look how pathetic World Series ratings have been over the last decade. Looks like the hay day was late 70's and 80's

This World Series is ALL about Madison Bumgarner. He won this thing single handedly. The Giants are not a Dynasty, but man what a run!!!

Sammy I'm not sure LA/NY would even pull 20%

I just think baseball has been out marketed by NBA and NFL. Seems that few care about bases these days. Just look at the trend, I'll do a scatter plot

if they go to the new rules, the game will be sped up, but they have already lost a generation. games need to be 2 hours 30 minutes on average if you are playing every day

i had the MLB extra innings package watched baseball every single day throughout the summer and i didnt watch a single pitch in this game. Just didnt have a dog in the fight and this matchup didnt do anything for me. 2 very boring teams I like HR's i am not a fan of small ball.

"small ball" is to baseball as 'running game' is to football - the champions do it better than the rest

and that comes from a guy who played baseball for over 20 years???
I can't imagine myself watching NHL for the entire season and then missing a Stanley Cup finals just because I don't have a dog in the fight- I'd feel like I've wasted a whole year following hockey

so hard to even compete anymore yearly and SF defying odds

When are teams like Yanks going to realize you do not need high priced players to win?? It never works for them anymore

Baseball proves every year you can win with regular guys as so many no named players making smaller amounts of money better than well know players that had a lucky year in a previous season or 5 years ago

SF won because of a stud pitcher..its what you need not hitters

We live in a "pleasure now" society. Instant access, get what you want when you want it. Its bad enough that baseball is a slow game, but then you have to play 162 games just to get through the regular season! Then it finally gets interesting! Its why football is so popular. Only 16 games, once a week. Each game means so much!
Life keeps getting faster as the world slowly loses interest.

The next generation is going to be even worse, because they all have attention deficit disorder.
There is no chance in hell these kids can appreciate all the the nuances of the game.
