The Royals 3rd base coach should be fired!

Unbelievable. Already 2 outs. Should have just went for it.

They never showed a good replay of it, but I was thinking he was going to go home when they were fumbling around with the ball forever.

Because running into the last out of the game is extremely dumb.

Ball was almost to the cut-off man when he reached third...guys would been calling for the coaches head when he got thrown out by a mile.

    Nose Ring is right here.

Gordon would've been out by 30 feet if he would've tried to go home.

Not sure if OP is aware, but major league players are typically pretty solid at the relays.

He was likely gonna be out at home. But the odds of him scoring were probably greater than Bum giving up another hit. Both less than 1%, pick your death

Cutoff had the ball gloved when runner hit 3rd or would have rounded 3rd... easy throw-out

Not to mention, with the new plate rules, catcher is protected and has the advantage. Posey would have been waiting for him 100%. Would have taken a terrible relay from basically 150ish ft away.

Thought they would have went for it but it's not really cut and dry either way

Considering how Bum was mowing them down that was probably the best shot

A good throw and he's out but feel like testing the arm was the right call in that situation

it was nuts man, they were swinging at shit above their shoulders. his fastball must have a little lift on it, they were popping up everything too. he really made them look silly one way or another. i would vote send him just because i'd rather bank on a bad throw home than anyone doing shit against bumgarner.

When the guy fumbles the ball and I'm the 3rd base coach I immediately wave that bastard in like a mad man and he gets a better turn and maybe busts ass a bit more. I'll take my chances with one out left in the WS that the relay throw, catch and tag go wrong over getting a hit off Bum. Perez swung at all balls, they were pitching around him yet can't tell him to take a pitch.

Yost blew it regardless. Davis should have been in Herrera's spot and Guthrie out sooner. Bochy put on a clinic. Aoki's hit to left with the LF in the perfect position which is normally a double.

Wet field...just didn't bounce their way tonight then when it does I'm taking that chance. If they do though, we sit here and call them morons for being tagged out standing but the relay man has to make the most pressure filled throw of his life though an easy one. It could go left, right, take a hop then Posey has to make the scoop or snag off the plate and then make the tag. Three things that could go wrong compared to getting a hit. Gordon was gassed...was exciting regardless. Great WS, lost my roll but fck it and that's why I'm not the 3rd base coach making decisions. Game 6 was the account dump, I knew it and got sidetracked and tried to do it today just anyway with a terrible feeling and just hoping the coin landed my way. Back to my old self.

Not even close, relay was on point. You cannot run into the third out at home, mlb players practice that play all spring training and he would have been doa. If you want to send the runner on the 2% chance of airmail you wont be coaching long. Stop sign was up early for a reason.

Considering it was already two outs, he hits the ball thinking it was going to be caught and didn't have that initial burst in case of an error/base hit, when he finally realized it dropped, he was still to slow but would have tempted 3rd base coach to wave him home if he turned on the jets from the get go.

Only way it's close is if he busts it out of the box. As it happened, if he's waved he's toast
