Rockies vs. Padres
Recommendation: UNDER 10.5
There’sno denying that the Rockies have one of the best offenses in baseball. TroyTulowitzki is having an MVP like season and Charlie Blackmon has burst onto thescene as one of this year’s biggest surprises. With how much potential theyhave to hit, people seem to overlook the fact that Carlos Gonzalez and MichaelCuddyer are both on the DL. “Cargo” is only one of the best players in all ofbaseball. These two guys being injured along with a handful of others beingbanged up gives the Rockies a significant hit offensively.
IanKennedy will throw for the Friars tonight. He’s looking to build off of astrong outing after giving up only 1 earned in 6 innings is his last start. When Kennedy is keeping the ball down and his command is strong, he is a verysolid and capable pitcher. An experienced guy like him will know how to workaround the strong hitters in Colorado’s lineup. Kennedy also sports a 2.90 FIPin his career against the current Rockies roster.
TylerMatzek will look to be a bright spot in what is a terrible Colorado rotation. The southpaw is nothing special but has put together some solid starts. Afterputting together a small stretch of good baseball, the Padres seem to be rightback to their true selves. They lost their last 2 games to the reeling Giantsat home so going to Coors field isn’t going to do them any favors. San Diegocan’t hit righties or lefties so I’m not too concerned with who’s on the moundfor the home team. This total looks a little high to me so I’ll jump on theunder. Take the Rockies-Padres UNDER.
