    All time great baseball man.
Won three times (divisions) with Pitt.
Won the whole think with Florida.
    Won with Detroit.

Man is a winner, and a class act.

And 68 is not too old.

    Leyland did baseball proud.

    He should come back.

But he better come back with a contender.

Detroit is probably too cold in October for him.

Lets see him replace Mike Scocia in Anaheim.

Maybe Philly would be a good fit

He's done. Slumping postseason hitters added years to his managerial life at the end. Said he's staying with Detroit, but has no energy left for the grind.

I think Joe McEwing is gonna land one of these big openings this year, either Cincy or Detroit. Cincy probably makes more sense.

man guy was a great manager. that fukkin tigers bullpen screwed their entire post season up. leyland needs to stay put and send some scouts to japan. i bet you if they won the world series he wouldve stayed put.
anyway wish him the best . class act.

Brad Ausmus is gonna be a hot name too, but I don't think he fits in Detroit. You got McClendon too along with Lamont that Leyland will probably lobby for ... depends how Dumbrowski wants to go. He doesn't seem to go far away from his comfort zone which is Leyland, so he might take a Leyland guy.

No one in that clubhouse deserves a shot. They have had their time already. Would love to see Gibson leave Zona, prob won't happen. Need someone with fire and a drive to win playing small ball.

The only Latin with any kind of say, loved Jim. Played with a grade 3 groin tear and still hit home runs. Warrior.

    Well stated!

Outstanding manager. If he had a bullpen, the Sawx would have been eliminated. Leyland can still manage and win. Yet he wants to walk away now before the grind gets even worse. Unlike any other pro sport, baseball is the biggest grind with the schedule. Eventually that takes a toll on a manager, and they get burnt out. He will be missed!

Small ball with three of the biggest bats in the American League in the lineup. You can't make this shit up.

At least it's not your favorite team so you do have an excuse.

Leyland is a bitch! Pulled all the wrong strings in the ALCS and fked up, now he's running. If he won the WS, I bet then he wouldn't have thought he was too old! FOH!

He mentioned it throughout the season how is he running like a bitch? He did over manage in the ALCS but that had no effect on his decision.. He told front office during the year so they could keep their eyes and ears open for a replacement.
