On August 18, 2006, the New York Yankees beat the Boston Red Sox 14-11 in a nine inning game that took 4 hours and 45 minutes to complete. This broke the old record of 4 hours 27 minutes set by the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants on October 5, 2001.

We could be in for a record here. 3 hours and 10 minutes and we are basically just begin the 7th inning.
