2006 Tigers division collapse (to Minnesota who had not been in first place all year till the Tigers lost in extra innings to KC on the final Sunday) is near identical to that of Texas, but even worse since they lost 3 straight home games to Kansas City (as like -200 each game), a team they were like 15-1 against that year going into the series. Of course the Tigers won the AL pennant that year so do not count Texas out. Oh, and Minnesota lost to Oakland in the ALDS after, so the momentum did not carry over at all.

This is fantastic. Living in the DFW-area and not giving two shits about any of the sports teams here makes talk radio hilarious. Should be some sweet suicides tomorrow or Friday.

    Per ESPN:
A club that trailed Texas by 13 games on June 30. A club with a $59.5 million payroll, lowest in baseball. General manager Billy Beane found ways to get a blue-collar franchise back to the playoffs for the first time since being swept by Detroit in the 2006 AL championship series.

Last year Boston and Atlanta had great chokes in the final month and two weeks to final game. I don't remember exact numbers just throwing some others.

I can't consider it a choke since the Rangers still make the playoffs. Last years Braves was probably worse.
