TEXAS RANGERS are the fkn play!!!

this kid Griffin will NOT be able to handle this type of pressure. I see him not even being able to get settled down in the first inning and getting tuned up early.

This is without adoubt the biggest game this kid will have ever pitched in his lifeand he is going to have trouble settling down and just getting out ofthe first inning. Which is always the hardest, especially for even aveteran, let alone a rookie, who's team is trying to clinch thedivision, on the final day of the season, against adeadly Rangers veteran line up. Talk about pressure. It doesn't getany bigger than that!

Griffin has postedvery nice numbers but when we take a look when he faces the big timeline ups, he struggles. Two starts ago against the Yankees he lastedjust 4.1 innings, 7 hits, 4 earned runs on 100 pitches. AgainstDetroit, again, he lasted just 4.1 innings, this time getting evenmore tuned up for 8 hits and 5 earned runs. See the pattern here? Nowhe is faced with the biggest task in his life against the best lineup in the AL or possibly all of MLB, that will be pissed off andchomping at the bit looking to gain what is rightfully theirs.

    Rangers have been there before.

It's going to depend on Dempster.

Dempster has a 2.78 ERA on the road this season -- sixth-best in the majors among qualified starters.

I don't know how you'd feel comfortable placing a wager here either way, let alone making it sound like it's obvious either way.

What is his road ERA with the Rangers agaisnt AL teams?

I don't care about his road starts with the Cubs playing against the Astros in the NL

pressure is on the Rangers here its their division to lose...I think the A's play loose today as they are playing with house money and already are in the playoffs

look at his numbers I posted when he actually faces big time line ups. not very good at all. plus this is the biggest game of his life. he is going to have a hell of a time trying to settle down. Dempster is a veteran and warrior and although he may give up a few the i truely believe the Rangers are gonna knock this kid around in the first inning as he won't be able to control the nerves.

Dempster will need help today and plenty of it. The biggest problem with the Rangers lately is their fence swinging mentality. I doubt there is a lineup in baseball that has more popup's than the Rangers do since the allstar break. Especially Kinsler. Hate watching that guy take cuts.

Hamilton waste more at bats than any player in baseball due to his refusal to work a pitcher. Is there a guy in baseball that has more 0 - 2 counts than him? He will swing at anything you toss up there including bounced balls. The guy looks zoned out when he is standing in there.

Oakland has the momentum, pitching and hitting right now. The Rangers are out in the bush trying to recover theirs. It's A's or nothing here for me.

Zoo, how do you come up with the A's have the pressure? I think that rest with the Rangers since they are the one's on the way to squandering the division. A's have been disrespected and discounted all year by the experts. Rangers can take this game but it won't be because the A's crumbled due to pressure. They are not expected to be here today, nor are the Rangers... In this spot. I might add day games at the colisieum are not fun experiences for the visitor's. Also griffin facing the big boys? Those numbers were road games. Most rookies are different animals at home. Also add Griffin had no trouble silencing the mighty Rangers bats at home more than 3 months ago. My opinion is this game is a tossup that will be settled by the bullpen's

    Power Line
    Team Pitcher Estimate Edge
    TEXAS DEMPSTER +186
    OAKLAND GRIFFIN -186

Griffin is 8-2 80% as underdog

    Bottom line,

    Griffin is way under valued,

while Dempster and Texas is way over valued...........
