Isn't bunting supposed to be one of the most basic baseball moves?

It seems like nobody can bunt these days. Game after game I'm seeing guys foul pitches off while trying to bunt and quickly getting into 0 and 2 counts. And this isn't just pitchers, it's position players as well. Don't get me wrong, at the MLB level players are seeing 95 heat with good movement which makes it much more difficult to put bat onto ball. However, you are MLB hitters and should be able to do the most basic baseball play with a relatively high percentage of success. If you can't bunt, then please just try to hit and strikeout that way.

They do not pay players to bunt, therefore aquiring the skill has a lesser priority.
