I see Kershaw eating the Bucs for lunch, but then a late inning win if Bedard pitches well in Game 2. Game 3 potential win against Capuano. Could take 2/3 from LA. What do they get in SF: Bumgarner, Cain and Zito?! I say 3-3 isn't out of the question this week if the bats can come alive a bit.

Morton had a nice rehab outing today, Lincoln also had a nice AAA start yesterday.
nice to have a little depth from the starting rotation, i'm sure the buccos will deal with plenty of injuries as usual.
Starling Marte with his first AAA HR today as well...
of all the things, I think i'm most excited about the Pirates low A ball Sally team....
its composed of about 50% international signings, mostly 18,19,20 year olds playing against 22-23 year olds

In all honesty Archie I have lost any hope in Pedro. If his name wasn't Pedro Alvarez, he wouldn't be on this roster anymore. I'd say get what you can out of him now and move on.....but you can't get a thing out of him. The only option is to play him EVERY day for the entire year, and then make a decision to keep or get rid of him. He doesn't even swing the fukkin bat.
The rest of the offense should come around....they'll at the very least improve some, because they've been SO bad. Alex Pressley and Cutch are the only guys who even have good at bats. Its frustrating to waste this good pitching

This is such a big series for the Pirates because the Cardinals pitching staff isnt nearly as good as the staff's the Bucs have been facing. Of course they still only score 1 run last night....so maybe it isnt the pitchers theyre facing. Good to see AJ pitch tonight though, if the weather permits.

The Bucs ended the first month only 2 games below .500. Considering their early schedule, and how terrible the offense has been....I'd say it was a pretty good month.
