Just saw this. That dumb fukk never should have left. Good addition me thinks. Will be huge if they can keep Volquez, but a good replacement if Volquez takes off for a big contract somewhere.

Russell Martin to Toronto 5 yrs, $82 mill. No way PIT would or should pay that. Great manager behind the plate, but thats almost fukkin MVP coin for fukk's sake. More per year than Cutch. Retarded for a 32 yr old.

Getting Cervelli from the Yanks could be an underestimated move. Lost Wilson, but think that's ok given he had one great & one blah year.

McCarthy a big fan of Cervelli, so maybe Bucs get an edge in going after him?

I have no problem with anything the Bucs have done so far, too much money for Martin, AJ for a year 8.5 is a good signing (veteran voice with martin gone and he only wanted to play here), cervelli for wilson a good move IMo

Martin, Cervelli, chris stewart, eric fryer

Huge re-sign for the Buccos today. Frankie Liriano coming back! 3 yrs, $39 mill according to ESPN

Working on Volquez potentially. Solid off-season if they re-up these two + added Burnett.

    Good bullpen piece w/Bastardo acquired
    http://www.nj.com/phillies/index.ssf...h_pirates.html

Also rumors that Orioles & Pirates working on a deal that would send Snider to the Os for Matusz who would fill the lefty void when Wilson got traded. Think the Bucs are doing nicely if they finish that deal.

Forgot Bastardo is also a lefty. So all the freak out on giving up a lefty to get Cervelli is moot.

Doesn't sound like Pittsburgh is going to be involved in chasing Volquez. Seems smart I guess. He wants $10 mill and they've got Liriano, Cole, Burnett and then a combo of Worley, Locke & Morton to fill it out. And Taillon hopefully back strong from TJ surgery could make his way up by the end of the year.

Bucs ink Corey Hart for 1 yr, $2.5 mil. Really like this as the right handed compliment to Alvarez at 1b. Worst case if he can at least stay healthy, extra pop off the bench.

Players who had gathered to watch the drill gasped loudly then went quiet as Burnett sagged to his knee. As he was examined by an athletic trainer, Burnett joked, "Where did the bone go?"

Holding a towel against his face, Burnett was helped off the field. He left the complex without speaking to reporters. The Pirates have released no information regarding the exact nature of Burnett's injury.

The Pirates acquired Burnett, 35, on the eve of spring training in a three-player trade with the New York Yankees. Burnett is expected to be the Pirates' starter on Opening Day.

After signing an $82.5 million, five-year contract, Burnett helped the Yankees to their 27th World Series title in 2009. Pittsburgh is paying just $13 million of Burnett's salary: $5 million this year and $8 million in 2013. The Yankees are paying the rest.

    He is a 13-year veteran.

Bucs #1 prospect Tyler Glasnow is a conundrum

he is unhittable but also wild as hell

last week he threw a 6 inning no hitter before getting pulled, walking 6

tonight he made it 7 innings with no hit ball walking 5

this is his 3rd "no-hit outing" of the month of June... a 5,6 and 7 inning no hit appearances

5 hits over 28 innings in june
